Addlestone Hebrew Academy 1675 Wallenberg Blvd Charleston SC 29407 843-571-1105

Addlestone Hebrew Academy was founded in 1956 making it one of the oldest Jewish Day Schools in the country. We are accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and serve children 18 months through 8th grade. Addlestone offers an exceptional education that enriches our students intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. More than a comprehensive secular program - more than a thoughtful Judaic program: Addlestone is the best of both worlds. In addition to language arts, math, science and social studies, our students celebrate Jewish holidays and study Torah, Jewish history, and Hebrew language. Our challenging curriculum develops students not only to excel academically, but also to make positive choices in a complex society. In addition, we offer art, music (including keyboard instruction for 4th grade and up), computers, Second Step (social-skills program), physical education, and Spanish (6th grade and up). Small classes, outstanding teachers, and age-appropriate creative programming add to AHA's appeal. As a member of SCISA (South Carolina Independent School Association) Addlestone students are awarded winners in state and regional science fairs, math meets, and literary competitions. Our graduates attend the following high schools: The Academic Magnet, School of the Arts. Ashley Hall, Porter Gaud, James Island Charter and Jewish high schools out of state. In the past five years, our students have attended the following colleges and universities: Boston University, Brandeis, The Citadel, College of Charleston, Cornell, Emory, Harvard, Haverford, Stanford, University of Maryland, University of Pennsylvania, Wesleyan and Yeshiva University.

Choosing a school for your child is personal.

Families consider academics, class size, community, values, location, and what they want their child’s school days to feel like.

As Charleston’s Jewish Community Day School, Addlestone offers strong academics in small classes where teachers know their students well.

Children also grow through Hebrew language, Jewish learning, a connection to Israel, and the experience of being part of a Jewish community every day.

The data tells part of the story. The relationships, confidence, and sense of belonging complete it.
