Clairee and Dolly need foster families! long term preferred, or short term from Thursday to Tuesday.

***PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU LIVE WITHIN 1 HOUR OF CHARLESTON SC***

Clairee (black and tan) is good with other dogs and older kids, unsure about cats but she can be tested. She’s quiet and can be crated easily. Still working on housebreaking but doing well. Ok with a shorter fence.

Dolly (English) is timid but comes out of her shell pretty quickly. Probably best for kids 10+ since she can be skittish with loud noises or sudden movements (which will likely improve once she’s out of boarding). She’s great with other dogs and playful with cats so needs a cat that is dog savvy or that will will put her in her place when she gets to be too much. She’s also a pretty skilled fence climber so either a leash walk only or a secure privacy fence is a must along with supervision outside. She tends to be more likely to attempt escape if she’s left out alone. If another dog or person is with her she’s more likely not to try.

*** While we appreciate any and all foster offers, we are very small and can only handle local fosters at this time. Our vet is Animal Medical West (704 Orleans Rd Charleston SC 29407) and you’ll need to be able to drop-off/pickup for appointments, med pickups etc. Note that we do our best to accommodate your schedule and minimize trips as much as possible.

Are you looking for a sweet and friendly furry companion? Look no further, Possum is your girl! This half Foxhound, half German Shepherd mix is a total extrovert and will steal your heart with her smile.😃💕

Possum is four years old, but she has the spunky curiosity of a younger dog. She gets along quite well with her foster brother, a similar sized male coonhound. Possum is quite attentive to her person, and will follow you from room to room, making herself at home wherever you settle. She adores the tall fence around the yard, and loves to run and explore. After she has stretched her legs, she will cuddle right up on the floor or couch.

She does well during the workday without accidents, although she is not fond of crates. She is generally quiet, but barks at other dogs across the fence. She walks well on the leash, but is prone to pulling if she scents a cat. She prefers socializing with other animals who are about her size.

You can apply to adopt Possum at carolinacoonhoundrescue.com/adopt

Have you heard of a prancy, hoppy jog? Well, that’s how we describe Cracker Jack roaming through the backyard.😆😇

He’s a low to medium energy hound (at this point), that will play/rough house with another dog for a bit but then seems to prefer lounging on the bed. He’s still timid but warming up to the humans in his foster home. He does seem to be more comfortable with foster mom.

While he loves to paw at you for attention, he’s not a snuggler. We aren’t sure of Cracker Jack’s past, but loud noises or sudden movements do startle him. We know he just needs some time for his personality to shine through. He would do best in a calmer home with another confident canine companion to show him the ropes.

Cracker Jack is 3 years old and 63 lbs. He is heartworm positive and is available for local Charleston, SC area foster to adopt home that is comfortable with the activity restrictions during treatment. You can apply to adopt Cracker Jack at carolinacoonhoundrescue.com/adopt

If you’d like to donate to help cover the cost for Cracker Jack’s care while he searches for his forever home, please visit our donation page on our website at carolinacoonhoundrescue.com/donate

Meet C**t, a forty five pound walker hound mix with big soulful eyes and an even bigger heart! He’s a super snuggler who thinks he’s a lap dog and absolutely loves couch time.🤗🛋️

Playful, but not over the top, he’s got that easy vibe. Very few potty accidents these days, and he sleeps quietly in his crate all night like a champ. He shares his toys and his food with other dogs, and he’s currently living peacefully alongside dogs, cats, and kids. Quirky bonus: C**t has a soft spot for socks and underwear. Hide your laundry!🧺🧦

If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle cuddle bug who gets along with the whole household, C**t might just be your perfect match!

🙏🏼Seeking foster or adopter.🙏🏼

Tilly Mae has made her way back to us as she has realized that apartment living isn’t for her. She is a hound that needs a house with a yard, and even better – one with a playmate!😃

She dreams of playing chase, or being chased by a canine companion. She knows sit, stay, lay down and place. Tilly Mae also knows when her food is put down, she has to hear a particular release word and won’t move to eat until she hears it. She’s one smart girl!😇 Tilly Mae is insanely sweet and ready to be your new best friend.

She is 5 years old. If interested in adopting or fostering Tilly Mae, please fill out the appropriate application on our website at carolinacoonhoundrescue.com
