3 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU'RE DISCOURAGED

When David was discouraged, he didn't just sit in it. He made three decisions, and the first was to remember.

He looked back on worshiping with his people, in unity with one another and with the Lord.

So in hardship, we remember God's faithfulness, because how He was then tells us how He'll be now. He doesn't change.

That's why God had Israel stack stones by the river they'd crossed, so every time they saw them, they'd remember He's still the same God today.

The second decision is to pray. Think of Paul and Silas, beaten and chained, who worshiped anyway, and God did a miracle.

And lastly, David speaks truth to his soul: "Why are you cast down, O my soul? Hope in God."

So when you're discouraged, do what David did: remember, pray, and speak truth to your soul until hope rises again.

The one question you think you can't ask God

Oftentimes, we ask God to reveal a solution to the difficulty when what He really wants to reveal is Himself.

Don't mistake patience for permission

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! – Psalm 95:2

WHAT IF YOUR WORST MISTAKES DON'T GET THE FINAL SAY?

Peter tells us something surprising about Lot: That he was considered righteous.

And the way that should encourage us wherever you find yourself in life.

Just like Lot, we don't have to be defined by our worst mistakes and our poor life decisions.

Because we've all made some bad mistakes and some poor life decisions, haven't we?

But God says we too, can be considered righteous.

It's the imputed righteousness of Christ. It becomes ours when we accept His death on the cross on our behalf.

So know that no matter what you have done, you can be righteous before God.
