We are so excited to share that Chelsea Locklear’s poem, “The Miracle Chasers” is our poem of the month for August! This poem is a vulnerable, powerful, and ultimately optimistic portrayal of the very real pain associated with fertility issues. It simultaneously reads as an expression of solidarity and a rallying cry for the “miracle chasers” of the world, and we feel it’s something everyone should read. Chelsea believes in whimsy and impossible things: that people can change, that the world can become kinder, and that hope is a worthwhile investment. She writes poetry and creates art but is still reluctant to claim either title. She’s happiest wandering museums, getting lost in unfamiliar cities, and collecting stories along the way. Still under construction, she lives in Charleston with her dog, Moose. Congratulations Chelsea, and welcome to the fae-mily! Thank you for trusting us with this poem; we are so excited to share it with the world!

Today’s the day fae babes! At 6 PM tonight we will be hosting our next Words and Wonder creative writing class on Zoom - Creating a Picture With Your Words! There are lots of ways to interpret this class; maybe you want to learn more about descriptive language, or maybe you’re a bit of an artist too like our beloved Georgia Nubia and want to take a more literal approach and literally create a picture with your words and create visual art from your poetry too. The world is your oyster, and Georgia is the absolute perfect guide for this class! We can’t wait to share her magic with all of you later! See you there!
