Project Enough
I’m also proud to say that we helped create a fund at UNCC for students impacted by interpersonal violence in 2015 that continues to be a beneficiary.
Project Enough is a Charlotte-based public history and community engagement initiative dedicated to evoking, enlightening, and empowering through storytelling, education, and conversation. Years ago, I was asked to direct UNCC’s annual Va**na Monologues which later evolved into Tales From Down There, a more inclusive production that included original stories about racism, heterosexism, ableism, sexism, and cisgenderism. All of our proceeds benefit local nonprofits and organizations like Safe Alliance, Pat’s Place, Transcend Charlotte, Time Out Youth, and movements that often don’t receive definitive funding. We also held Resource Fairs and workshops during the week of our annual performances that offered opportunities for local organizations to gain support, resources, and connections as well as introduce themselves to the community. Our original audience for these events was UNCC students; but over the past five years with our new productions and offerings, it’s quickly grown into including Charlotte and surrounding areas. We found that the need for these stories to be shared and connections to be made extended far beyond campus which led to me creating Project Enough which creates productions and/or workshops at other venues throughout the area.

Over the next week, we're introducing the incredible workshop facilitators joining us for F*CK the Patriarchy and the conversations they're bringing into the room.
First up: Dr. T.D. Harper-Shipman, Associate Professor and Chair of Africana Studies at Davidson College.
Her workshop "Becoming Unruly Together" asks us to consider how poor Black women's labor and reproductive decisions have been controlled and surveilled and how women in North Carolina and Senegal have resisted.
The session also asks us to reconsider practices historically labeled "deviant" or "unhealthy." What might they teach us about resistance? About reproductive and material freedom?
About imagining ways of living beyond the systems that created these conditions in the first place? Questions that deserve to be asked and discussed.
Join her and other facilitators at F*CK the Patriarchy: A Conference on Feminism, History & Collective Action on
October 10.

A little schedule change and for a pretty exciting reason. After the Credits: Sinners is moving to October 28.
I have an unexpected opportunity to head to Salem, Massachusetts, for some research, and when the chance comes to spend time digging into history in the places where that history actually happened…well, I need to take the opportunity. Research is a huge part of what goes into Project Enough whether I’m building an After the Credits talk, a No Podium Required event, a course, or whatever idea I’ve gotten myself into next. And sometimes that means following the history when an opportunity presents itself.
If you’ve already purchased tickets, you can use them for the new date or get a refund if you can’t make it.
AFTER THE CREDITS: SINNERS Roots, Rhythm, and Reckoning
NEW DATE: October 28
VisArt Video
Same film. Same deep dive into everything underneath the Blues, history, Hoodoo, religion, race, folklore, cultural memory, and so much more. And now you get Sinners during Halloween week, which honestly feels pretty damn appropriate.
BUT remember that the vampires are still only the beginning. There’s a reason I titled this After the Credits “Roots, Rhythm, and Reckoning.”
Thank you for rolling with the change. And yes, I fully expect Salem to send me down several new research rabbit holes that you’ll get to enjoy and learn about later.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN!! F*CK the Patriarchy: A Conference on Feminism, History & Collective Action is happening October 10, and we’re officially ready to start filling the room!
We’ve put together a day of workshops, conversation, learning, and connection led by educators, activists, organizers, creatives, and people doing the work in their communities. You’ll have six workshops to choose from across three breakout sessions, plus a keynote speaker during lunch.
We also want this conference to be accessible to as many people as possible. We’ve created several registration options so you can choose the price that works for you. No application. No proof of income. No explanation required. We know that access is about more than the price of a ticket, too. We’re currently working on securing childcare for the conference or providing a childcare cost supplement for attendees who need it. We’ll share more details as soon as they’re finalized.
Your registration includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages throughout the day, conference materials, and free parking.
You don’t have to be an expert or an activist to come. You just have to be curious, willing to listen, willing to question, and ready to be part of the conversation.
Early Bird tickets (first 20) are available through September 18th.

This Sunday, Project Enough founder Shannon Bauerle will join Independent Picture House for a special screening of Andrzej Żuławski’s Possession (1981), followed by a 30-minute Q&A and talkback. And this is a film that gives us A LOT to talk about.
Marriage. Motherhood. Sexuality. Religion. Identity. Rage. The female body. Psychological horror. Monstrosity.
In 2014, Shannon created the UNC Charlotte course Possession of the Femme: Body, Mind, and Spirit, exploring the long history of women being portrayed as possessed, hysterical, dangerous, sinful, unnatural, or monstrous and what those portrayals tell us about gender, power, and the cultures that create them.
Possession became one of the central films taught in that course. Now we're taking that conversation out of the classroom. Shannon will give a brief introduction before the film, and after the credits roll, we'll spend about 30 minutes unpacking what we just watched
Whether you've never seen Possession or you've been waiting for an excuse to experience it again, this is a film worth seeing on the big screen—and one that definitely deserves a conversation afterward. And yes. We're going to talk about THAT scene.

Crafting for the Cause A Creative Night of Community, Connection, & Change
07/13/2026
I've realized that one of my favorite things is creating the kinds of events I wish existed.
Not just another lecture. Not just another craft class.
Something where people can learn, create, laugh, meet new people, and leave feeling a little more connected than when they walked in.
That's exactly why I created Crafting for the Cause.
On Tuesday, July 21, we'll be gathering at Common Market Oakwold for an evening of candle decorating, conversation, and community while raising funds for Charlotte for Choice.
We'll also have:
🕯️ A personalized candle to create and take home
🧠 Reproductive justice trivia (with prizes!)
📚 A short discussion about reproductive healthcare in the Southeast. Hear stories from the frontlines of clinic defending and escorting here in Charlotte.
💜 Great conversations with thoughtful people who care about making a difference
Whether you come with a friend or come on your own, I hope you'll leave with more than just a candle. I hope you leave with new connections, new ideas, and the feeling that you've found your people. Details in flyer and feel free to share. Space is limited! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/crafting-for-the-cause-tickets-1992735909749?aff=oddtdtcreator

Many of us were taught the milestones of history(well the ones THEY thought we should know)—but not always the stories behind them. We may know when women gained the right to vote, but not that many BIPOC women continued to face barriers for decades including today. We may know rights changed, but not how those changes shaped everyday life, opportunities, expectations, and institutions.
These examples are reminders that history is often more complicated—and more relevant—than we realize.
The laws changed.
The impact didn't always disappear overnight or ever.
That's what we'll be exploring at the next No Podium Required conversation:
