Open Group Spots!!

Seeking Safety is for adults who are dealing with the effects of trauma and have found themselves coping through things like substance use, self-harm, avoidance, numbing, or other behaviors that help in the moment but create problems over time.
The group focuses on understanding these patterns, learning ways to handle triggers and intense emotions, building healthier relationships, and finding safer ways to cope without requiring you to be ready to dive into the trauma itself.

It’s a supportive, practical group and you can start wherever you are. Enrollment is always open as long as there are spots left in the group so join when you are ready. Scan the QR code or email [email protected]

We’re excited to announce that Caladrius Therapy is now in-network with Curative Health! 💙

For Curative members, in-network care comes with $0 copays, $0 coinsurance, and $0 deductibles.

This is the kind of change in healthcare that we’re excited to be part of.

At Caladrius, we believe access to quality mental health care shouldn’t be complicated by financial barriers. We appreciate that Curative is challenging some of the traditional ways healthcare and insurance have operated by focusing on affordability, transparency, and making care easier to access.

We hope newer insurance models like Curative continue to challenge the status quo and rethink what health insurance can look like for the people it serves.

We’re proud to be part of the Curative network and to make evidence-based mental health care more accessible to its members.

Curative members: we’re here and ready to see you. 💙

There’s a myth that being a therapist means sitting in a room holding sadness all day.

And yes, sometimes we hold really heavy things. Grief. Fear. Heartbreak. Trauma. The things that are hard to say anywhere else.

But therapy also makes room for the full spectrum of being human.

Sometimes a client tries something new, sets a boundary, practices a skill, or puts themselves out there… and comes back with a story so absurd that we’re both trying to keep it together.

Sometimes we celebrate. Sometimes we laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of being a person. Sometimes we spend a few minutes giggling about something that would make absolutely no sense to anyone outside that room.

And that isn’t time wasted or a distraction from the “real work.”

The relationship is part of the work.

Getting to experience connection, safety, warmth, humor, and being fully yourself with another person can be therapeutic, too.

The truth is, I can never completely predict what I’m going to hold for someone when they walk through my door.

Sometimes it’s incredibly heavy.

Sometimes it’s incredibly hopeful.

And sometimes it’s just really, really funny.

Somehow, this profession has a beautiful way of making room for all of it🤍

This one is a little more personal 🤍

Our grief specialist, Carlee Cooper , wrote Goodbye, Dolly through both the lens of a therapist and a granddaughter who still finds pieces of her Nana in Dolly Parton.

Because one of the things grief teaches us is that a relationship doesn’t end simply because someone is no longer physically here.

The people we love keep showing up. In songs. Movies. Recipes. Kitchens. Traditions. Stories. Places. Sometimes even in other people who somehow became tangled up in our memories of them.

And while those connections can make a loss ache a little more, they can also become a way back.

We hope this blog encourages you to think about where your people still live in your life, and to keep finding ways to connect with them there.

Because the relationship is still yours. And it still deserves to be tended to. 🕊️🫶🏼

Cultural Humility in Clinical Practice: Bias, Power, and Ethical Multicultural Care
Led by Mylah Chandler, LCSWA

This interactive training takes clinicians beyond cultural competency into honest self-reflection on bias, power, and identity, and how each shapes the therapeutic relationship. Through discussion, activities, and case application, you'll examine racial and generational trauma, colorism, whiteness, and intersectionality, explore the ethical obligations that guide multicultural practice, and leave with assessment tools and interventions you can use with clients right away.
