Halfway There Rescue

This guy is a total softie. 🖤

He’s handsome. He’s goofy. He’s cuddly. He’s energetic.

He is 100% convinced that every new person, bird, squirrel, and exciting smell was put on Earth specifically for his entertainment.

This young houndy boy is learning the fine art of being a house dog, and he’s doing GREAT. He’s rocking his crate time, enjoying his walks, soaking up training, and absolutely loving his post-adventure cuddle sessions.

Sampson would love an active, patient family who can keep helping him polish those manners. He’s not quite ready for small kiddos, and his enthusiastic play style means a canine sibling would need to be confident enough to tell him, “Sir. We do NOT do that.” 😂

In return? You get one seriously lovable, eager-to-learn, big-hearted goofball.

We aren’t sure what else we’ll find when the vet team finishes with his medical shave, but we do know, dogs shouldn’t have to live this way. From what we can see underneath extensive matting we’re looking at skin infections, raw wounds, abnormal growths, and open sores. The unknown has us all pretty anxious for what his care might ultimately cost.

A neighbor reached out to one of our volunteers for help when she learned a senior dog had been abandoned. And when the logistical pieces quickly fell into place through a series of text messages and coordination, Kyle was safe. But he’s not well.

We are cautiously optimistic, but guarded as we hope for best case scenario. Years of neglect have caused painful medical issues and he is uncomfortable being touched. It’s a soft reminder all we can do is take it one day at a time.

Sunday it was get him safe.
Monday it was help alleviate his worst pain.
Today it’s figure out a full treatment plan.

Times like these remind us how special it is that our supporters keep funding our medical emergency fund so we can say yes when we need to and we don’t have to prolong his suffering because the money isn’t there.

Contributing any amount is an incredible gift to animals in need. Please help if you can by making a donation.

Tillie is a 35lb petite little mama who loves to play fetch, tug-o-war, and hasn’t met a stuffie she wasn’t ready to prance around the house with until she meticulously locates and excises the squeaker. As she’s gotten comfortable in her foster home, she now loves to go on walks and, while the world can feel intimidating for her at times, she still gets excited to sniff and explore and will dance in circles of pure joy when she hears the leash pulled out of the drawer.

Tillie would love to be the spoiled only child so she can let her guard down and finally soak up the love and attention she truly deserves.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion, full of pint-sized adventure, look no further than Tillie!
