A community mutual aid organization, by the people, for the people. Hello, family! Solidarity
The Chattanooga Free Store is a completely non-religious, volunteer run, mutual aid coalition. Our core belief is that everyone deserves to live well, and to be able to meet their basic needs. We believe that the solution to hunger, poverty, and other material inequality, is not more top-down, means-tested charity from people who do not live in our communities, but that the solution is for communities to build their own systems and structures to care for each other. Communities, neighborhoods, and families, know better than anyone what they need, and we believe in listening to them and working with them, instead of just assuming we know how to help. If you would like to donate to support our efforts, volunteer with us, or find other information, go to chattfreestore.org. You can reach us directly by messaging the page, or by emailing [email protected].

Important message to our community- please DO NOT take the plants from our community garden. This garden is here for everyone to benefit but it’s no good if you steal the plants!
Mensaje importante para nuestra comunidad: por favor, NO se lleven las plantas de nuestro huerto comunitario. Este huerto existe para el beneficio de todos, ¡pero no sirve de nada si se llevan las plantas!

Reusing diaper boxes for food distribution! We’re always trying to reuse what we have and today it’s using some of the many boxes we end up with to pack up food for the community.
The store may be closed, but we’re distributing food boxes in our parking lot today (Friday) at noon.
