Lucy wants to know if anyone would be willing to donate some canned chicken to help hide her medicine in, and to help feed her picky eater friends?

Lucy recently underwent surgery to remove her infected left eye - and while she feels MUCH better without it, she still needs to take her post-surgery meds to help her heal - and the only way she'll take them is with chicken!

We also use canned chicken at HES for our pickiest eaters, and for feeding to animals with upset tummies until they feel better. If anyone has the means to donate, we would greatly appreciate it!

For easy ordering, you can shop our Amazon Wishlist here: amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2X3CGJ9HHUDZC?ref_=wl_share

Canned chicken donations can be shipped or dropped off to HES, located at:

Lonely Hearts Club: Asher β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή
Animals that have been in shelter care for over 45 days are considered a member of our Lonely Hearts Club. Sweet senior boy Asher has been waiting over 135 days for a forever family to adopt him 😞

Some dogs walk into your life and immediately make you smile. Asher is one of those dogs. At-10-years old, this handsome Husky mix has the soulful eyes, an expressive face, and a delightfully goofy personality that make him impossible to forget.

Asher is a BIG boy with an even bigger heart. When he first arrived at HES, he weighed more than 100 pounds, but he's been putting in the work and has already lost more than 30 pounds! With a healthy diet, regular walks, and plenty of encouragement, Asher is feeling better and better - and he's proof that it's never too late to start a new chapter.

And don't let his age fool you: Asher still has plenty of fun left in him! He genuinely enjoys his walks, loves getting outside to sniff and explore, and has a playful side as well. He's not looking to run a marathon, though. At 10 years old and still working toward his healthiest weight, he appreciates a comfortable pace and plenty of breaks.

If you're looking for a dog who will make you feel loved every single day, Asher is your guy. This sweet senior absolutely adores people. He's a full-body wiggle machine who leans right into you for affection. He has never met a stranger he didn't want to be friends with, and his favorite place is probably right beside his person.

His friendly personality makes us believe he would likely do well in a home with children and other dogs, and he'd fit right in to nearly any home. Come meet him at HES!

Happy Caturday! This is Ms. Brisby. She's a 1-year-old beautiful tabby who came to HES with her babies, who have all since found their forever homes. Now, it's this mama cat's turn to find her family and be treated like the baby she still is herself!

Ms. Brisby is very sweet and loves being petted. She spent a few months in foster care raising her babies, and after they were adopted, she stayed in a foster home to work on socialization. She enjoyed being around her foster's resident cats, and though unsure about them at first, she adapted and was able to coexist just fine. She also acclimated to her foster's dogs as well.

Her foster reported that she has a good appetite and litterbox manners. One of the most endearing things she will do is a little hop if your hand is just above her head, where she will bounce up a little bit to get some pets.

Now back at the shelter, Ms. Brisby is ready for her forever home! While she may be shy at first meeting, give her time to adjust and she'll show you what a wonderful kitty she is!
