Great outdoor spaces start with safe ways to get there. 🏞️

Horsetooth Reservoir and Carter Lake welcome more than 1.5 million visitors each year, making them two of the most visited outdoor destinations in Colorado. Working with the Federal Highway Administration’s Central Federal Lands Highway Division and Larimer County, our AIS Infrastructure team helped modernize the roads, parking areas and access routes that bring people to the water.

The $15 million Federal Lands Access Program project converted 7.5 miles of gravel roads and parking areas to pavement, adding three turn lanes and increased parking capacity to reduce unsafe shoulder parking. Drainage and water quality improvements help protect the reservoirs, and the work extends the life of these community assets by another 25 years.

Crews kept access open for visitors throughout construction, and the project wrapped 14 months ahead of schedule.

Thank you to Ian Broste and the team for delivering a project that helps our community get outside and enjoy Colorado.

Building stronger communities goes beyond the job site. 🎁

On September 18, our AIS Infrastructure team joined Georgia Power–Plant Bowen and Citizens of Georgia Power at the Toys for Tots Charity Golf Tournament in Marietta, GA, supporting the Marine Toys for Tots program. Every toy collected and every dollar raised helps bring holiday joy to local children and families who might otherwise go without.

Thank you to Mike Mihalic, George Parker, Matt Pike and Lucas Benet for representing AIS Infrastructure, and to Georgia Power for organizing an event that makes a real difference in our community.

Building better access to the places people love to explore. 🏞️

AIS Infrastructure is improving roads, parking lots, and access routes at Horsetooth and Carter Lake Reservoirs in Larimer County, Colorado. These destinations serve more than one million visitors annually, making safe, reliable access an important part of the visitor experience.

The project brings together roadway construction, paving, concrete work, and drainage improvements to enhance access for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Throughout construction, our team is coordinating work to maintain access to these popular recreation areas.

It’s infrastructure built to support exploration, connection, and the communities we serve.

AIS Infrastructure recently welcomed students from Carrollton City Schools’ RaLin Construction Academy for a tour of the Dog River Dam and Reservoir project.

Programs like the RaLin Academy are helping build the next generation of construction professionals by giving students real-world exposure to the industry and the opportunity to develop practical skills that can translate directly into their careers.

During their visit, students had the chance to see the scale and complexity of infrastructure work up close, connect classroom learning to real-world application, and gain a deeper understanding of the role projects like Dog River play in supporting local communities.

Experiences like this are an important part of investing in the future of the industry and creating opportunities for the workforce of tomorrow.

Infrastructure is easy to overlook when it’s doing its job. That’s part of what makes it so important.

As part of National Infrastructure Week, today’s focus is on strengthening the systems communities rely on. At the Dog River Reservoir, AIS Infrastructure crews are working to reinforce and expand critical water infrastructure that serves the Douglasville community.

This project isn’t about starting from scratch. It’s about stewarding an essential resource. By upgrading and reinforcing existing systems, this work will significantly increase long term water capacity and help preserve a reliable water supply for the people who depend on it every day.
