We seek, serve and share Jesus Christ! Pastor Damian Carruthers came in August 2022 from Germany to our church here in Cheney and is now our lead pastor.
Cheney United Methodist Church (CUMC) is a safe and welcoming place for people of the Cheney and Spokane community to come together to celebrate life, join in discussion, ask questions, pray for healing and strength, meet new people, and learn about yourself and others. We encourage people of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs to visit the church, meet the wonderful congregation, and hopefully find something beneficial and enlightening. We value different opinions and are not at all interested in converting anyone, but instead to keeping our minds open to discussion. This Sunday, October 4th 2026 starts our 6week Movie Series around Spiderman and Batman - The Masks We Wear! We will talk about what it means to be a hero, about local Heroes who spread the love of Christ without limits and also the problem with some masks we wear and from which Jesus wants to free us. Hope you see you on Sunday!

It’s almost the best time of the year! November 7th is the church Bazaar.
That’s Pie season in case you weren’t aware. And Church Bazaar season.
But to celebrate properly, we need your help baking pies and cookies and other treats!
Sign up sheets for baked goods are near the Door of Opportunity, and in the Bazaar Corner for helping with sorting and setup.
One of many reasons our church family is wonderful: this table display has flour sprinkled perfectly around it. We might as well make it a bit extra!

Welcome Back Students!
We are celebrating Eagle Sunday on 9/27, so wear your red/black gear!
At 5pm we will gather with a potluck to start our autumn movie series off with Spider-Man 1 watching.

Caren Lincoln takes the pulpit this Sunday, September 20, 2026, to invite us to "Remember, Receive, and Rejoice." Psalm 105 calls us to remember the wonders God has done in our world and for us; and Philippians 1:21-30 invites us to receive all that Christ has given us. And it adds up to rejoicing in our faith and in our God! Join us for worship!
If Pastor Damian comes home to a church full of minifigures and VHS/DVD cases strategically hidden, he would never suspect the congregation!

Tomorrow is the annual Cheney Yard Sale!
And we are a part of it.
This is the link to the map of all the participating locations.
It is happening on June 6th with a minimum hours of 9am-2pm. Many sales will extend outside of these days/hours.

On Pentecost, we baptized Trenton and received 6 new members to our church family who professed their faith! What a great day. Praise the Lord!
