Just up West Main Street is Village Roots, located in the Millhouse. **UPDATE - we heard your feedback and are moving this workshop to Wednesday July 15th*** Join us for an evening of herbal refreshment as we explore some of summer’s most beloved cooling plants. Together we’ll meet hibiscus, rose, lemon balm, and mint through taste, aroma, and traditional herbal wisdom. We’ll learn how to make simple herbal syrups, sample botanical beverages, and discover how easy it is to create delicious alcohol-free summer drinks at home. Using sparkling water, citrus, herbs, and floral syrups, you’ll experiment with building your own custom mocktails while learning practical kitchen herbalism skills you can use all season long. Perfect for beginners, gardeners, herbal enthusiasts, and anyone looking for new ways to work with herbs beyond tea. Participants will receive recipes, herbal profiles, and inspiration for creating their own summer sips at home. Led by Village Roots shop fairy and folk herbalist, Meg Fitzgerald. Journey from the Mimosa Tree to Village Roots One of the most magical things about plants is the way they speak to us - making a mimosa flower tincture is like capturing the sunshine of a summer day. ☀️ Often called the “Tree of Happiness,” mimosa is a flowering tree traditionally used to uplift the spirit, soothe stress, and promote emotional well-being. Maria harvested these beautiful mimosa flowers recently in North Haven. They traveled to Village Roots where they were put in a clean glass jar and filled with gluten free alcohol over the flowers until they are fully submerged (as shown by our lovely model!) They are currently sitting in our Alchemists Workshop (aka upstairs @ the shop) steeping for 4 to 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, we will strain the liquid and use it in a fresh batch of Ray of Sunshine! ☀️ Ray of Sunshine Tincture ☀️ Ingredients // Alcohol, Water, Mimosa Flower, Mimosa Bark, Lemon Balm, Bobinsana, Rose Dosage // Take 1-2 droppers full up to three times daily or as needed. Add to water, tea, or take directly under the tongue for quicker absorption. Shake well before use. Description // Brighten your spirits and embrace positivity with our Ray of Sunshine Tincture.
