Representative Daniel Singh
Candidate for Senate District 31 in the Wyoming Legislature. Proudly serving the people of House District 61 and the State of Wyoming. Let’s save the Republic!
Freedom of speech is essential to a free society.
I’ve had people say some pretty disgusting things about me politically, things I believe are hateful, unfair, and simply untrue. They are free to say those things, just as I am free to disagree with them.
But violence can never be the answer to political speech. No one should fear for their life because they publicly expressed what they believe.
That shouldn’t be a left or right principle. It should be an American one.
Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.
One interesting part of the Lindsay Clancy case that I haven’t seen discussed is how differently states treat the insanity defense. Massachusetts is actually pretty unusual. If insanity becomes an issue in a case, the prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant was mentally responsible for what they did. In most states, the burden doesn’t work that way.
Wyoming takes the opposite approach. W.S. § 7-11-305(b) says, “Every defendant is presumed to be mentally responsible.” So if you claim that mental illness left you unable to understand that what you were doing was wrong, it’s your job to prove it, not the state’s.
That difference matters. You could have the same crime, the same defendant, the same evidence, and the same victims, and potentially get a different result depending on where the crime happened. Who should have to prove it: the prosecution or the defendant?

FROM WYOMING TO CONGRESS — THE GRANITE ACT GOES FEDERAL
Earlier this year, I worked with attorney Preston Byrne and Wyoming Deputy Secretary of State Colin Crossman to develop and introduce the first GRANITE Act in the country.
Our bill passed the Wyoming House 46–12 and later became ALEC model policy.
Now, Congressman Michael Rulli has introduced the GRANITE Act in Congress.
The idea is simple: foreign governments don't get to decide what Americans are allowed to say.
I'm proud to have played a part in getting this started right here in Wyoming. Seeing it now make its way to Congress is pretty incredible.
Preston Byrne tells the full story here:
America Strikes Back Against Foreign Censors With the Rulli GRANITE Act, HR 10174 Bonhomme Richard vs. HMS Serapis, 1779 What is the GRANITE Act? The GRANITE Act is a bill to stop foreign governments from censoring Americans on the Internet. Per reporting in the Times, a federal…
The Select Committee on Blockchain, Financial Technology and Digital Innovation Technology is currently working on legislation addressing automatic license plate readers (ALPRs), including systems such as Flock cameras.
These systems can collect and retain information about where vehicles travel, and the increasing use of artificial intelligence raises serious questions about how that information can be used to track the movements of individuals over time.
In my opinion, you are not free if you are constantly being surveilled. The government should not be able to use new technology to build a detailed picture of an innocent person’s movements and daily life without appropriate constitutional safeguards.
The Fourth Amendment was written to protect Americans from unreasonable government searches and surveillance. New technology does not make those protections any less important.
The committee expects to have a draft bill addressing ALPRs, data retention, access to that data, and the use of artificial intelligence ready for consideration in September.

We wish all of our kiddos, teens, teachers, and faculty a great start to the school year tomorrow!
As a reminder, please slow down in school zones, stop for school buses, and watch for children walking to and from school. Our officers will be out helping make sure everyone gets where they’re going safely.
Have a great year!

I congratulate Senator Evie Brennan on her victory last night.
I am deeply thankful for the opportunity the people of Wyoming gave me to serve in the Legislature, and I will continue serving the people of House District 61 faithfully through the remainder of my term.
To everyone who supported me, volunteered, donated, prayed, voted, or simply gave me a chance: thank you. It has been an honor.
The people spoke. There is still work to do.

The Second Amendment is not negotiable.
I voted YES for Wyoming’s Second Amendment Protection Act and opposed efforts to weaken it. My record is 100% pro-gun.
The contrast in this race is clear. Senator Evie Brennan broke her campaign promise on SAPA, has repeatedly voted against pro-gun legislation, and refused to complete the Wyoming Gun Owners candidate survey.
Don’t take my word for it. Scan the QR codes and check the record yourself.
On or before August 18, vote Daniel Singh for Senate District 31.

I stand with President Trump.
I fought for the White House policy on hospital pricing transparency.
HB 121 mirrored the Trump executive order requiring hospitals to post actual prices and banned them from collecting on patients if they refused.
It had real teeth.
Evie Brennan voted against it.
She let the White House down and sided with the hospitals over Wyoming patients. She is employed by the hospital system.
Then she brought a weaker, watered-down bill with lighter penalties. It was approved by the lobbyists but had no enforcement mechanism. I had to amend it myself on the House floor just to force any real enforcement.
She protected the status quo. I fought for transparency.
Vote Daniel Singh for Senate District 31.
Range day!
