Platte Rivers Veterans Fly Fishing

As this year’s Madison trip comes to a close there are 8 very happy veterans that have had a great 3 days of fly fishing. It’s not just the fish we catch that now bonds us as brothers. We have gained friends that we can all fish with and share future fishing trips together.

The Madison River trip has started off with a bang! Long day of travel with a stop by The Slide Inn to get fishing licenses. Kelly Galloup happened to be there in the shop. Very nice chat with Kelly and his shop staff and a new group picture to put in the history books.

There some awesome and incredible things going on behind the scenes in preparation for Platte Rivers Veterans Fly Fishing’s Honor Float at the Soaring Eagle Lodge. We are 15 days out for the most incredible fishing experience on the San Juan River. If you can come to the send off to see a glimpse of the hype that is so exciting please join us July 2nd at 0730.

Today is the Army’s birthday and it’s Flag Day also! So put those flags out today and call your favorite Army veteran and wish them happy birthday.

This past weekend about 20 veterans were invited to Crystal Lakes to fish for the day. It was a great day all around. Lots of fish on the line, lots of smiles, and lots of gratitude for the guides and volunteers that made this day possible. Thank you to all the great volunteers that made this day possible.

The send off day is getting closer. Only 22 days till a group of outstanding dedicated Marines embark on the Honor Float. Please join us in sending these Marines off July 2nd. They leave at 0800 with an awesome es**rt.

With hearts of gratitude and honor, Platte Rivers Veterans Fly Fishing remembers D-Day in Normandy France on this 82 anniversary. The historic event of the largest seaborne invasion in human history changed the world as we know it. Please take a moment to honor their sacrifice, dedication, and perseverance to carry out this mission to begin the end to World War II.

Only a short 29 days until this year’s Honor Float. Lots of leg work going on behind the scenes to make this another epic Platte Rivers Veterans Fly Fishing event. As it gets closer to the send off day we will provide more information. The send off in itself is awesome to be part of.
