The thing I love most about primitive camping is how it shuts out the rest of the world.
How it pulls me into the presence of the moment. Nothing else matters.
No worries of daily stresses to clutter my mind. No more weight of grief and loss burdening my heart. No more cloud of despair to darken my thoughts.
For a few blissful days there's only the joy of discovery and wonder. Feeling the trees and the storm. Smelling the river and the rain. To revel in the solitude of raw wilderness and all its beautiful, dangerous, glory. ⚔

Dawn on our first day of adventure.
After an uneventful but sleepless night in a nylon bear bait wrapper along a back country road in the National Forest.
I guess all the bears were hanging out in parking lots.
It was a wonderful wildlife-filled weekend.

Not much to report on the writing front. My well spring of inspiration has gone drier than the Sahara.
Maybe I'm just in need of a little adventure.

I might drag my reclusive ass down to Castle Rock, CO this weekend for the All American Reptile and Plant Expo.
Mama needs a new spider. 🕷️⚔️
