The Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College presents Corazón de Papel (Paper Heart), featuring the colorful and imaginative sculptures of artist Gloria Contreras.
Working in the Mexican folk-art tradition of cartonería, Contreras transforms paper, cardboard and paste into vibrant, whimsical sculptures.
Exhibition: September 15–October 14
Public Reception: Wednesday, September 16 | 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Remembering the lives we lost, the heroes who responded and the resilience that continues to unite us.
Campus Update:
Power has been restored to the affected buildings. The Main Building will remain closed until 5 p.m. The Conference Center and all other campus buildings remain open.
Beginning at 5 p.m., all regularly scheduled classes will continue as scheduled, including those in the Main Building, ATOC, Health Tech, MAC, and K Building.
Thank you for your patience.
Campus Community –
Due to a power outage affecting the Main Building and Conference Center, classes and operations in both buildings are being suspended at this time.
All other campus buildings remain open and are operating as scheduled.
We will share an update on afternoon classes and operations in the affected buildings as soon as more information is available.

Prairie State College is proud to sponsor the Community Social Action Fair, hosted by the Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
The free community event will feature food trucks, a game truck, family activities, giveaways, voter information and community resources. The NAACP will also give away free grocery bags while supplies last.

Join us in the library classroom on Tuesday, September 15th from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM for a Constitution Day lecture. Dr. Justin Pariseau (History) will talk about Revolutionary ideology and the Founders' opposition to monarchy as a form of government, fears that the Constitution could betray the principles of the Revolution, and recent No Kings protests that have happened across the country and in our community.
