The RS5 continues to impress us week after week with some surprisingly simple modifications. And there are still tons of goodies slowly showing up.
It was awesome seeing some insane stick shift builds out at our local track, Great Lakes Dragaway.
Huge thanks to c4tun_ing for the amazing work getting the RS5 moving out so well.
Stock cooling. Stock torque converter. No port injection.
Just a small single turbo and a bunch of methanol. 😂
Still plenty more to come.

Yesterday was another big step forward for the 4.0T/ZF8 Swapped RS5.
New personal bests:
1.47 60ft
2.21 0-60
9.43 @ 149.94 MPH (1/4 Mile)
6.03 (1/8 Mile)
What continues to blow our minds is just how simple this setup really is. Even our tuner has been impressed with what this combination continues to do.
Current setup:
- Bone stock 172k mile Audi A8 engine
- A8 Open rear non sport differential
- FE Performance Single Turbo Kit
- E25 fuel
- M1 methanol injection
- No port injection
- No A2A, utilizing the stock W2A system
- Custom LPFP setup
That’s it.
No built engine. No crazy fuel system. No port injection. Just a very basic combination that keeps surprising us every time we turn it up.
At almost 150 MPH, the power is clearly there for a low 9 second pass. Now we just need to put together a clean run from start to finish and see what it has in it.
We’re nowhere near done with this car yet.
9.43 @ 149.94 on a 172k mile stock engine.
What’s next after we get a few clean passes:
- High stall torque converter
- A proper wheel and tire package
- A2A and Port injection
- Drivetrain upgrades (Front and rear JXB Wavetrac)
- Roll Cage and Parachute + IRHA/NHRA license
Need to address traction control turning itself back on.

We’re excited to officially announce FE Performance’s first partnership with HPT Turbochargers.
One of our shop cars will be getting a new HPT turbo setup as we continue pushing the car toward its next goal.
We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out exactly what we wanted from this next setup, and we’re excited to see what this combination can do.
