Feeding the Future was back in the kitchen with our 5th–8th grade students at Rosa Parks! 🍓🥣
Students made vanilla yogurt, granola, and fruit parfaits while learning about measurements, food quality, presentation, creativity, and teamwork.
It was a fun, hands-on class that combined culinary skills with real-life learning.
Building skills, confidence, and future opportunities—one class at a time.

What a great first day with our 5th graders at Rosa Parks Elementary!
We kicked off our Feeding the Future Culinary Arts Program by welcoming students into the kitchen and laying the foundation for a safe, successful, and fun culinary experience.
During our first class, students learned about:
* Kitchen rules and expectations
* Proper handwashing and sanitation
* The importance of food safety
* Teamwork and working together in the kitchen
* Culinary careers and opportunities in the food industry
We also spent time getting to know our students, talking about their favorite foods, and discussing food allergies and why they are so important in a kitchen environment.
Our goal with Feeding the Future is to teach students much more than how to cook. We are building confidence, responsibility, teamwork, life skills, food safety knowledge, and introducing young people to careers they may have never considered.
Is your elementary or middle school looking for a hands-on culinary enrichment program? Feeding the Future can be brought directly to your school and customized to support your students and programming.

🌱 Feeding the Future—building skills, confidence, and future opportunities one student at a time.
On Friday, we proudly graduated our third Culinary Arts class through the One Summer Chicago Program a partnership between Feeding the Future and A Knock at Midnight.
This incredible group of 10 bright and talented students worked hard throughout the program, learning essential culinary skills, teamwork, and the importance of collaboration in the kitchen. They prepared a variety of dishes, including many baked items, and even did an outstanding job setting up the dessert and beverage station for their graduation celebration.
Seeing them dressed in their black chef coats was a proud moment for all of us. Their confidence, growth, and dedication were truly inspiring.
Congratulations to our graduates! We are so proud of each of you and can't wait to see what your future holds. 👨🏽🍳👩🏽🍳🎓❤️
