OUR PROGRAMS
FOSTER CARE: Our Foster Care program provides safe, nurturing homes for children who have been removed from their birth families due to neglect and/or abuse. Fostering offers havens for children until they can safely return to their families, transition to guardianship, or become adopted. THERAPEUTIC DAY SCHOOL: Our Therapeutic Day School creates individualized educational programs for every student and fosters autonomy, skill mastery, and experiential learning. CHILD AND FAMILY TREATMENT CENTER (CFTC): Our CFTC provides treatment intervention for youth experiencing acute emotional challenges and includes residential services as well as behavioral, expressive, and recreational therapies. TRANSITIONAL AND INDEPENDENT LIVING: Serving youth ages 17-21, our Transitional and Independent Living programs teach independent living skills under the care of our around-the-clock case management team and Life Skills Educators. PROJECT WORK: Project Work serves South Shore’s youth, families, and community through job training and placement, mentoring, restorative justice, and violence prevention.

Lawrence Hall is hiring an LGBTQ+ Therapist for our Lakewood Group Home!
This opportunity is ideal for a therapist who brings creativity, compassion, and an affirming approach to their work with young people. You’ll provide individual, group, and family therapy to LGBTQ+ youth while helping them explore identity, strengthen relationships, process trauma, and move toward healing.
You’ll also collaborate with families, schools, courts, community partners, and the Lakewood team to make sure each young person receives coordinated, thoughtful support. If you believe therapy should make young people feel heard, respected, and empowered, we’d love to meet you!

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys mentoring young people, building meaningful relationships, and creating a safe, affirming space where LGBTQ+ youth can grow and thrive. You’ll help young people strengthen everyday life skills; from cooking and household management to emotional regulation and healthy relationships, while bringing encouragement, consistency, and positive energy to the home.
No two shifts will look the same, so flexibility, teamwork, and a genuine passion for supporting young people are essential!

Are you passionate about advocacy, relationship-building, and helping young people navigate complex systems? In this role, you’ll partner with LGBTQ+ youth, families, supportive adults, schools, courts, DCFS, and community providers to coordinate services and build pathways toward safety, permanency, and long-term stability.
This position is a great fit for someone who can keep the details organized while never losing sight of the young person at the center of the work, case notes matter, but so does making sure every youth feels heard, affirmed, and supported.
