Nancy is truly the heart of our home. She’s the creative eye behind so much of what we do—bringing beauty, design, and intention into every detail. Our very own in-house floral architect, she has a way of taking every vision and helping bring it to life in the most beautiful way.

She’s usually the first face you’ll see when you walk through our doors, welcoming you with the biggest smile—and chances are, she’s also the one you’ve been chatting with through emails and messages behind the scenes. 🤍

Our home, our business, and so much of what we’ve built simply wouldn’t be what it is without her.

Meet Madeleine Brown, a trauma-informed ERYT-500 yoga instructor based in Chicago. Maddie found yoga in college as a tool for her own mental health, and now helps others use it to build resilience, self-awareness, and emotional well-being through movement, breath, and meditation. She’ll be leading slow flow sessions at 12pm and 2pm to help us ground, breathe, and settle into the day.

We are excited welcome Caitlin Maldonado from to lead a kids movement class at 1pm, designed to get our youngest guests moving, laughing, and connecting to their bodies. Through playful movement and joyful energy, she’ll help kids build confidence and learn that wellness can start early and feel fun, because wellness is something we can all share, at every age and every stage.

🎧Music therapy is coming to Garden Within the City this Saturday 8/29 in partnership with City Volkswagen of Chicago.

🎧With guided relaxation and the soothing sounds of nature, we’re creating a space to pause, breathe, and reset in this beautiful VW van. A quiet moment in the middle of the city, here for anyone who needs it.

Through watercolor, she brings urban landscapes to life with a softness that makes you fall for your surroundings all over again. At the garden, she’ll be guiding Relaxation Through Watercoloring — an unhurried space to breathe, pick up a brush, and let color wash the tension away. No experience needed. Just come as you are, and let yourself soften into the moment.

💐Join us for Floral 101 on the evening of 9/29 💐
Our hands-on floral sensory experience where you’ll learn how to create a beautiful floral piece while gaining practical design skills you can use long after the class.

Our Floral Godmother will guide you through flower selection, color, texture, composition, mechanics, and placement, sharing plenty of tips and design direction along the way.

You’ll leave with a beautiful arrangement you created yourself, a better understanding of floral design, and knowledge she’s gained from being in the floral industry for over 20 years.

No experience necessary. Come ready to learn, create, and get your hands in the flowers. We call it naturesnature’s therapy.

The Garden Within the City returns for its second year on Saturday, August 29 🕰️11 AM–3 PM—a free day created for our community to slow down, create, connect, and simply be.

To our neighbors across the Windy City, north and south and everywhere between: this is your invitation. We transformed this urban space because life moves fast and asks a lot of us. This day is an opportunity to pause. Take and smell the flowers, spend time journaling, connect with licensed therapists, or simply enjoy being surrounded by nature and community.
