We’re proud to bring five Chicago-based, community-led organizations to SOCAP26 where they will connect with funders, investors, and partners to advance innovative models for community ownership, economic development, environmental justice, food systems, media, and neighborhood revitalization.

Our 2026 fellows are:

Chicago Frontlines Fund
Seeking $5 million for its Reclaim Fund to support community-led projects through technical assistance, predevelopment funding, and blended capital.

Village of Leaders Thriving in Solidarity (VOLTS)
Seeking $1.25 million to expand its ecosystem of commercial and residential cooperatives and grow community ownership of businesses and real estate.

ChiFresh Kitchen
Seeking $400,000 to grow its worker-owned food service cooperative serving large institutional clients.

CrossTreats
Seeking $500,000 to expand its worker-owned food manufacturing headquarters and grow its operations.

Chicago Media Coalition (Sisters in Cinema, Full Spectrum Features, Mezcla Media Collective, and Open Television (OTV))
Seeking $5 million for its Film Incentive Loan Fund, leveraging state tax credits to support film production in Chicago.

These organizations are building new models for how communities can own, invest, create, and thrive.

I hope you’re all having a wonderful day. As part of the Village of Leaders Thriving in Solidarity community, we’re committed to uplifting and supporting the co-ops within our ecosystem.

Right now, we’re rallying together to support the Handlers—a new worker-owned co-op working toward purchasing their first truck. This is an exciting step in their journey, and a powerful opportunity for us to invest in one another.

We’re looking to our community to support our community. Any contribution, big or small, truly makes a difference.
