In honor of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland turning 75(!) here is one of the very first official pieces I did for Disney Parks back in 2020. I still love this piece, even if there are some things I’d render differently today. Plus I enjoy Dinah making the biscuits lol. Two new companion pieces of mine have hit Disney Parks! Ursula and her alter ego, Vanessa, from The Little Mermaid are featured in “The Only Way To Get What You Want…” and “Is To Become Human Yourself.” So far they’ve officially hit Disneyland and California Adventure! Whenever I don’t know what to draw, this redhead pops up on my paper. Also ok forgot how hard it is to use colored pencils and actually get full coverage! Granted… idk if the ones I’m using are made specifically for art, I just found them in my backpack haha but it’s still fun. Oh feel free to ignore the hands, I sure did lol ✌️✌️

Alice and her flamingo are done! This initial sketch was done innnnnn 2015? 2016? Unclear but it took me about 10 years to come back to haha and I’m really happy with how she came out. I was being super indecisive about the background and I ended up posting a poll in my IG story, so THANK U to everyone who gave their opinion because it was really helpful to bounce ideas together. I always tend to make Alice’s dress green because one of my favorite editions of the Alice in Wonderland book has illustrations by Marjorie Torrey and they’re just 🤌🤌🤌 but as soon as the background became primarily green with a hint of deep blue sky, it HAD to be blue. It just pops. I did want to make sure Alice’s blue dress fell under public domain guidelines because this isn’t the Disney Alice and I found out that Alice’s dress was first depicted as blue in the late 1800’s/very early 1900’s so we’re good haha 🙌 This is a bit of a deeper blue but I always wanna make sure things are on the up and up. The hedgehog didn’t make it to the final cuz….. I didn’t feel like it lol but I also don’t think it needs it and would just distract. I put in the last slide cuz I actually like how some things in my art are fully rendered to the max and some things are much more sketchy. I think it helps pull the eye to the main focus and keeps secondary elements feeling a little more charming. Some may say inconsistent, I say Kim there’s ppl that are dying. I hope you like the end result! Also this song by is a fav and was actually very much the vibe I wanted for this piece. 💜

Sleeping Beauty is finally done! I’ve been slowly chipping away at this piece over the last 2 years whenever I was between projects and I’m so glad it’s finished. If you swipe through you can see the slowww progress lol in a way it is kind of nice that it took me so long to finish because every time I came back to it I had different tastes or more ability to bring what I was imagining to life. I hope she brings you joy! I’ll make prints available soon! 🌹🧚🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️
