Another Illinois Women in Leadership media training is in the books! JT was proud to host an all-day intensive media training session for the Illinois Women in Leadership Training Academy Class of 2026! 💙

The IWIL Training Academy equips Democratic, pro-choice women across Illinois to run for office, pursue public appointments, and govern with confidence at every level. Each year, IWIL welcomes women from across the state and provides the training, tools, and support they need to build winning campaigns and lead their communities to success. 

The day included presentations on:
🎙️ Getting interview-ready
💬 Staying on message under pressure
📰 Media tools and tactics for engaging with reporters

Each candidate also participated in a personalized mock interview, giving them the opportunity to put their new skills into practice in real time!

This month, The Boulevard of Chicago hosted its Annual Luncheon Fundraiser, raising more than $60,000 thanks to the generosity of community members and leaders, who embodied the luncheon theme: Stronger Together, Building Systems That Heal.

For more than 30 years, The Boulevard of Chicago has dedicated itself to breaking the cycle of homelessness by sheltering thousands and providing high-quality respite medical care and housing services to those in need.

NBC 5 Chicago anchor and reporter Evrod Cassimy served as emcee and led the paddle raise, bringing energy to the room and helping The Boulevard team not only meet but exceed its $50,000 goal, a role JT helped secure.

For more than four decades, Rick and Jim have been trusted advisors to presidents, governors, mayors, corporate leaders, nonprofit executives and countless organizations navigating communications and public affairs challenges. Since founding Jasculca Terman in 1981, the duo has built JT into one of Chicago’s most respected strategic communications firms while making lasting contributions to the profession and community.

This recognition reflects not only their remarkable careers and leadership, but also their unwavering commitment to serving clients, mentoring communications professionals, and strengthening the communications industry.

This year's annual UIC Urban Forum hosted by the University of Illinois Chicago brought together impactful speakers and held space for engaging conversations on the future of urban communities.

This year's theme was “Public service in a changing America” and highlighted topics such as the importance of public libraries, environmental policy, and public safety when it comes to immigration.

JT was proud to provide social media and event services for the Urban Forum once again this year!

On May 5, more than 200 people with disabilities, advocates, and supporters gathered at the Illinois State Capitol for They Deserve More’s “Action Day” to call for higher wages for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).

The event highlighted the essential role DSPs play in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and urged lawmakers to invest in Illinois’ community support system. Advocates met with legislators throughout the day to push for stronger funding and workforce support.

JT supported communications and digital engagement efforts for the event, helping amplify the campaign’s message and mobilize supporters across the state.
