Crossroads Fund supports community organizations working on issues of racial, social and economic justice in the Chicago area.
At Crossroads Fund we believe that big change can come from small beginnings. Some of the biggest victories weโve seen in this city, from accessible public transit for people with disabilities, to the successful campaign to abolish the death penalty in Illinois, started out as small grassroots movements that were considered too radical for most funders. Thatโs where Crossroads Fund comes in. We give small grants to new and emerging groups, providing critical support from the beginning. We are often the first foundation grant that our grantees have applied for or received.

Are you passionate about social justice and want to make a real impact in Chicago? The Giving Project is now accepting applications for its next cohort.
From January to June 2027, you can be part of a transformative journey where you'll have the chance to support crucial but underfunded social justice movements, build community across race, class, and gender, and gain invaluable skills in donor organizing and fundraising.
Together, we aim to raise $150,000 for grassroots initiatives! ๐ฅ

Grant amounts are between $๐ฑ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ - $๐ญ๐ฑ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ depending on the size of the project and what it will cover.

These numbers tell the story of a realized vision and a collective ability to respond to the immediate needs of our communities while also working towards our collective, liberated future. On and around June 25, participating restaurants will donate 25% of sales to support Crossroads Fundโs mission to fuel grassroots social justice organizing and nourish movements for change across Chicago!
You can participate by eating and enjoying local foodโfrom hot dogs and Costa Rican favorites to Mexican cuisine, ice cream, halal eats, Vietnamese dishes, and more. Chicago is a city built on incredible food and a proud tradition of organizing and activism. *Every meal helps fuel community-led work while bringing people together around a shared purpose.
