American Alpine Club - Chicago Chapter
Share
The Chicago Chapter of the American Alpine Club exists to bring Chicago climbers together in celebration of the community's passion for climbing.
The American Alpine Club Chicago Chapter was founded Autumn of 2016 by Avi Rubinsky, Myung-Jin Oh, and Savannah Buik. Savannah originally had the idea of founding the chapter after previously volunteering with the Southeast chapter, and the exponentially growing climbing community in Chicago contributed to her inspiration. With the help of Avi's experience in the Northeast and Myung's presence in the Chicago climbing community, the three founders felt they had a great team to bring Chicago climbers together. Chicago is located in an outdoor climbing desert, but the community never ceases to be psyched to take weekend trips far from the city. The American Alpine Club supports the pursuit of climbing and the passion exuded by everyone who loves to climb, and the Chicago chapter hopes to support the community that does whatever they can to get outside.
