🏰 🏘 OPEN HOUSE CHICAGO is here once again! The whole event occurs on October 17th and 18th and Working Bikes will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC for tours on Saturday, October 17th from 10am-5pm!

This FREE annual architecture festival by is one of the largest events of its kind in the world.

OHC is an annual free public festival, led by the Chicago Architectural Center, that specifically highlights important architecture, culture, and history in Chicago. Working Bikes has participated in OHC since 2019 and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to share our unique warehouse and impactful mission with more people.

The shop will be open for normal business and volunteer shifts, but let us know if you are interested in volunteering for OHC at Working Bikes this year! You can email us at [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering or with any questions.

📣 Working Bikes Speaks! Did you know that you can invite Working Bikes as a speaker to your event?

Our Board President, Dave, spent almost a month in Lesotho checking in on the progress of Bikes for Lesotho, the project he started a decade ago that Working Bikes fuels with bicycles to this day. The pictures, videos, and stories from his travels make for a compelling talk that can educate and inspire action. The more folks we let know about Working Bikes, the more support we get, and the more impact we can have together strengthening local and global communities by giving donated bicycles new life as tools of self determination.

🚚 OUR NEXT CONTAINER IS DROPPING NEXT WEEK and we need your help to pack it! Starting on Wednesday September 9th at 10am we will be packing bikes for our partners CESTA AT El Salvador. You can sign up on our volunteer program POINT, link in bio!

Our amazing board member Ed will be leading Parkway landscaping blitz, Saturday, 9/12 from 10:00 to 3:00!

Our staff instructor of the evening Frankie had a big crowd learning about bottom brackets tonight. Big thanks to Jon and Xander with great assists, we appreciate everyone who made this night a success!

Sometimes we can fit more than just bikes in an international donation! Our partners in Derechos Humanos en Acción Asociación Durango. were able to donate these One Summer Chicago t-shirts, shoes and toys to the community in Otáez. We are so proud to support them in any way we can, thank you for all your work!

🎉 📖 🚲 NEW GUIDED OPEN SHOP! This is a new session we are introducing to Brandon's Bike Shop Tuesday evenings from 5-8pm with a new Skill Demo every week from 6:30pm to 7! This is a learning space, it is BYOB (Bring your own Bike) but we have demo bikes you can use for learning if you would like. Spaces are LIMITED you can sign up on POINT in the link in bio!
