“Today is WORLD THEATRE DAY. I’m supposed to give a message of celebration, but I must tell you, there is nothing to celebrate. We live in a time when militarization replaces culture. We are about to have more drones than bees on our planet…” Today on #WorldTheatreDay we are honoured to announce the winner of ITI Prize 2026, Nicoleta Esinencu. ✨ Congratulations ✨ Nicoleta Esinencu is a director, author and performer from the Republic of Moldova. Together with the performance collective teatru-spălătorie @teatru_spalatorie, she has been making a significant contribution to the cultural exchange with Eastern Europe for almost 20 years. ➡️ On 10.+11. June, her latest performance, Memory Distortion. The Mayor of Chicago has officially proclaimed February 5 -15 as Chicago Theatre Week, an annual celebration of Chicago's diverse theatre scene!
