She may no longer go by the name “Sweetie,” but she’s still the queen of sweet treats, as you can see. 🍰🧁

Now known as Keiko, meaning “beloved child” in Japanese, she’s settled into her new home, watching wildlife from the windows and lounging in the sun porch. After getting her zoomies out during play time, she loves to snuggle up for a cuddle and evening TV. While there were some classic sibling scuffles between Keiko and the family’s resident cat, the love is really starting to grow between the two! 🐈️💞🐈️

Munch, munch, munch! 🍼🐾

For kittens in our foster program, growing big and healthy is a full-time job. That’s where our feeding partner, Purina , comes in! Purina provides food for our foster kittens, helping them get the nourishment they need to reach important milestones along the way.
Once they’re about eight weeks old and weigh a healthy two pounds, they’re usually ready for their spay/neuter procedures and vaccines. And after that? They’re one step closer to the adoption floor and their ! 💙

Thank you, Purina, for helping keep our tiniest fed, growing, and on their way to what’s next.

For receiving medical care, a foster home can be the perfect place for some much-needed R&R. 🛋️

Abner and Fluffy are both senior cats who have been enjoying some time away from the shelter while getting the care they need to feel their best. And currently, they’re at different checkpoints on the same path:

Fluffy is waiting for her dental procedure, which will relieve her of her oral pain and discomfort. Abner has already had his procedure and is now recovering in his foster home. Meaning, both cats are one step closer to adoption!

In the meantime, their foster pawrents have gotten to know these two pretty well. Abner is a total lap cat who could happily spend all day snuggling in a warm lap—and he especially loves having his lush, long coat brushed. And Fluffy? With her big eyes and wispy neck fur, she looks like she wandered straight out of a Studio Ghibli movie, but this sweet girl is as gentle as they come. 🥹

Once they’ve healed and recovered, these sweet seniors will be ready to find families who will appreciate all the love they have to give. 💛

Twenty-five were adopted last week—and 14 of them found their new homes with reduced adoption fees, thanks to our event! 🎉

When you adopt a cat named Samwise Gamgee, a Lord of the Rings marathon weekend is in order. 🌋

And that’s exactly how Samwise settled into his new home! Well that, and a welcome party of three new cat brothers! 🙀 In true little brother fashion, Samwise only stayed in the spare bedroom for one day before his big brothers broke him out to play. Now, he’s settled into his new feline and human family perfectly.

Check out these foster CUTIES! 🐾

For kittens like Andersonville, Portage, Pilsen, McKinley, and Pullman, foster care means going straight to the fun stuff: playtime, snuggles, and learning how to be a cat! 🐱 Their biggest job? Get bigger, stronger, and ready for their next adventure

Other kittens, like Secret Sauce, Happy Go Lucky, and Kissabel, needed a little extra time to get there. They started out in foster care, recovering from health challenges like eye infections or panleukopenia. Once they were feeling better and cleared for social time, they could get back to what kittens do best—playing with friendly feline friends, exploring, and learning the ropes!

These kittens aren't available for adoption just yet, but they'll be ready soon! In the meantime, there are plenty more kittens who need a foster home to help them grow and thrive.
