Exciting news happening in Lincoln Park with the grand opening (today!) of two restaurants from the Bonhomme Hospitality Group. The latest location to the family and an intimate Spanish pintxos bar called are welcoming guests in to experience each unique ambience.

I had the opportunity to explore the restaurants before they officially opened and want to share the experience with you. Walking into Beatnik, you will be surrounded by greenery, beautiful lighting and seating, all of which gives a bohemian vibe. From a dining room to a space for relaxing with tropical cocktails and globally inspired dishes (Mediterranean, Northern African) to an enclosed patio plus a private dining space for personal or professional gatherings, this restaurant offers something for every guest.

Attached to Beatnik you will find Lolo y Lola, a cozy 22 seat Spanish pintxos bar that is just where you want to go in the neighborhood for a glass of w**e and Spanish appetizers or desserts.

I kicked off Bourbon Heritage Month with Garden & Gun and Louisville Tourism at a Bourbon tasting. Held at newly opened, Home Bar by Aged & Infused, we had the opportunity to sample five different ways to enjoy this spirit from mixologist Jordan Harris of Louisville’s Trial + Error | Louisville Cocktail Lounge.

What is a better way to spend a gorgeous weather night in Chicago than on a river boat tour.

Family owned is celebrating their 40th anniversary and I was onboard to help celebrate this special occasion.

Chicago’s architecture is filled with history, beauty and stories which made our evening cruise so fascinating. The knowledgable guide shared tips and tidbits about the design and features as the boat passed by each of the notable buildings.

Boarding Chicago Line Cruises takes places at the Ogden Slip which is located at Illinois and McClurg, (465 N. McClurg Ct.), and will return to the same location. Note that this is not Navy Pier.

We had lunch at the Lincoln Park location ordering the Epic Chicken and Hot Honey Chicken from the Anniversary Menu plus the Limited Time Only Italian Beef Burger, crispy French Fries and Sweet Potato Fries and of course the freshly made shakes!

Step inside THE CUBE for immersive games that test your skill and teamwork in an experience inspired by the hit tv show.

has made Chicago its first U.S. location for its popular European TV gameshow. There are 21 glass cubes throughout the 25,000 foot entertainment space each with different games to be played. You will be tried on speed, memory and strategy through challenges that only THE CUBE knows with the goal of landing on the leaderboard.

THE CUBE assigns you to seven games where precision, balance, memory, nerve and speed make a difference. Your team will be made up of four players. Some games will be played by 1 or 2 players.

Take a break and enjoy cocktails/mocktails, b**r and w**e from the three mixologist led bars plus a food menu designed to be shared.

Over the course of the evening, we had two sirens go off and lights began to flash in one cube and then another. This is known as Cube Royale. One challenge and one player/team compete for money and prizes. You can see everyone gathered around the illuminated cube in the video. Everyone was cheering the players on. The energy was real!

This was such a fun experience. Completely surprised at each of the games and challenges and the competitive spirit that comes alive in the best way. Cheering each other - new and old friends - made it a great night.
