✨ July Teacher Spotlight ~ Candice Pinn ✨

Candice brings a perfect blend of support & challenge to every class, encouraging students to meet themselves where they are while exploring what’s possible. She encourages her students to stay curious, be patient with yourself, and don’t be afraid to try something new ~ growth happens when you keep showing up.

When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her with her animals, on her yoga mat, thrifting, or building community through her passion for wellness, sobriety, and recovery.

Candice teaches a Barre class every Wednesday at 6pm, but you can also find her subbing some of our other classes on occasion. Come practice with her!

This Sunday, 1pm! Join us for a practice with a special purpose. A donation-based class to raise funds to support a local cause that strengthens and uplifts our Chicago community. Philip Nahlik will be leading this class. He’s a yoga instructor and high school science teacher that believes in sharing the power of yoga asanas and pranayama in daily practice for a more peaceful world. All funds raised will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

We’re proud to offer these community-centered classes as an accessible way to practice yoga while giving back. Donate as little as $5 or as much as your heart desires—every contribution makes an impact, and everyone is welcome.

This Saturday (7/11), complementary donuts & tea when you come in for class. Grab your free copy of The Pub and lounge in our living room while you peruse the latest news about our great city, in print only! 8am ~ 1pm.

We’re proud to be a pickup spot for The Pub, a 100% community operated print-only newspaper. No social media. No website full of articles. No algorithm deciding what you should read. You have to venture into the real world, grab a copy, and read it the old-fashioned way. We think that takes guts!

That spirit aligns perfectly with our mission at Yodega ~ to slow down, be present, and reconnect with ourselves, our neighbors, and the world around us. In a culture that constantly pulls our attention elsewhere, both yoga and a printed newspaper invite us to pause and be where we are.

✨ June Teacher Spotlight ~ Heather Sandy ✨

If you’ve taken Heather’s Monday 6pm barre class, you know she helps you find your edge, usually somewhere between “I’ve got this” and “my legs won’t stop shaking!”

Heather’s challenging classes encourage us to tune into our bodies, the beat of the music, and discover strength we didn’t know we had.

This Professor of Library Sciences can be found sharing Chicago’s incredible history as a volunteer docent on the Chicago Architecture Boat tours.

We’re grateful for the steady energy that Heather brings to Yodega and for every pencil series that reminds us just how strong we really are.💙

Breathe better and feel better.

Join for a 90-minute immersive workshop designed to help you reconnect with your body’s most essential, yet often underused, breathing muscle. In this guided experience, you’ll learn how diaphragmatic breathing works, why it’s foundational to nervous system regulation, and how to apply it in your yoga practice and everyday life.

Explore how to shift from shallow, stress-driven breathing patterns to deeper, more efficient ones that encourage calm, focus, and resilience—one breath at a time.
