A fresh look for the Oak Lawn Public Library!

The completed renovation features an updated meeting space, kitchen, and inviting lounge area that better supports the needs of today’s library users.

Public libraries continue to evolve as community hubs, and we’re proud to have partnered on improvements that create a more functional, welcoming experience for staff and patrons.

We’re excited to share that Phase 1 of our work with the Coal City Fire Protection District is now complete, and we are moving into Phase 2!

Studio GC was brought on in Spring 2024 to help evaluate and rework plans for a multi-phased expansion and renovation project. Working closely with the fire district and our contractor partners, we were able to refine the design to better align with the project’s budget while still supporting the long-term needs of the department.

This project includes a 6,500-square-foot addition and a 5,000-square-foot renovation, helping position the Coal City Fire Protection District to better serve the community for years to come.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important investment in public safety and look forward to the next phase!

There’s something special about a library that becomes more than just a place to check out books!

We’re proud to share the completed renovation photos of the lobby and café spaces at the Glenview Public Library! This project was designed to create a more vibrant, welcoming experience for the community from the moment they walk through the doors.

The expanded café space was envisioned as an opportunity to bring local businesses directly into the library environment, giving patrons a place to grab coffee, sandwiches, and refreshments without ever having to leave the building. More importantly, it creates another layer of connection between the library and the Glenview community it serves.

Thoughtful public spaces have the power to bring people together, encourage longer visits, and create experiences that feel both functional and inviting. We’re grateful to have partnered with the library team to help bring that vision to life.
