What a great weekend at the 79th Street Renaissance Festival! 🎶

The festival brought together music, culture, community, and incredible local talent for a vibrant celebration on 79th Street. Music Box Foundation was proud to be part of the day, with our students performing at the Teen Corner and several taking the main stage as well.

It was wonderful to see so many artists, families, and community members come together and support the performances throughout the festival.

A memorable day of music, creativity, and community — and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make it special. ❤️🎤

Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corp 79th Street Renaissance Festival

This week marks one year since we lost our beloved Executive Director, Kijuana Carter. 🧡

As we prepare for the 79th Street Renaissance Festival, our hearts are especially heavy knowing that this will be our first festival without her.

Kijuana was so much more than an Executive Director to Music Box Foundation. She was family, a leader, an advocate, and someone who believed deeply in creating opportunities for young people through music and the arts. She poured her heart into this organization, our students, our families, and the communities we serve.

There are moments when her absence is felt more deeply than others—and this is one of them.

But as our young people take the stage today, we are reminded that her work continues.

One year later, we still miss you. We still love you. And we will continue keeping your promise. 🧡

We told you the Teen Corner Stage was bringing the talent! 🔥 We’re excited to introduce another incredible group of teen and young adult performers joining us at the 79th Street Renaissance Festival!

Join us at the 79th Street Renaissance Festival this Saturday and make sure to stop by the Teen’s Corner for a full day of youth-centered creativity, live music, and community energy. 🎶🔥

Music Box Foundation is proud to support spaces where young artists can be seen, heard, and celebrated. Teen’s Corner will feature live performances from Phreak Fantasma, Lashout Fam, Sound Chasers, Moni Moni and more giving emerging talent the opportunity to take the stage and share their work with the community. The final lineup will be posted shortly.
