Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus

Sneak peek 👏🏻 you saw him here first! 👀

Meet Hopper! This 2-year-old floof is as friendly and playful as they come!

Meet Reese!

Reese is a sweet, gentle, 7-year-old girl who has officially put her mammary surgery behind her and is ready to find a family of her own! Her mammary masses were removed, and thankfully, no cancer was found. She will need a routine recheck in about six months to make sure everything continues to look good, but for now, Reese is healthy, recovered, and ready for her next chapter.

Reese has been an absolute joy in her foster home. She has the gentlest soul and is incredibly well-mannered. She takes treats softly, waits patiently to be invited through gates, stays out of the kitchen, keeps all four paws off the furniture, and is perfectly content just being near her people. She even greeted her foster brother with the sweetest little kiss through the gate.

She enjoys leisurely walks and generally walks nicely on a leash, although her foster family is continuing to work with her on some intermittent leash reactivity. Reese would do best in a home without cats or small animals.

If you’re looking for an easygoing, affectionate companion who is happy to hang out with you, enjoy some belly rubs, take a stroll, and then settle in for a cozy nap, Reese may be your girl. She has been through enough changes and is more than ready for the best part of her story: finding a family who will love her for good.

Kiara was adopted over the weekend and is LOVING life in her forever home. 💕

UPDATE - Darren is adopted!

Meet Darren!

At 98 pounds, Darren is a whole lot of Doberman—and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy is likely of European lineage, giving him that classic large, powerful build, but don’t let his size fool you. Underneath it all is a giant puppy who’s still figuring things out.

Pocket Boxer, anyone?

Meet Clover!

This adorable TINY (14 lb) Boxer mix is under 8 months old and is just beginning to discover how wonderful life as a beloved family dog can be. Every day she gains a little more confidence, and watching her blossom has been such a joy.

Clover absolutely loves other dogs and gets along with pups of all sizes. In fact, she’d thrive in a home with a confident canine companion who can continue showing her the ropes. She’s currently living with cats and thinks they’re pretty fun to chase, so any feline friends should be dog-savvy and comfortable around playful puppies.

Like any young pup, Clover is still working on her house manners. Potty training is a work in progress, but she’s already keeping her crate clean and dry overnight, which is a great start! She hasn’t needed to be crated during the day because someone is usually home, and she takes her cues from the resident dogs, making her an easy little houseguest. Of course, as she settles in, her playful puppy personality may shine even brighter!

More than anything, Clover wants to be loved. She’s incredibly sweet, eager for affection, and happiest when she’s close to her people. If you’re looking for a small companion with a gentle heart and the cutest little Boxer face, Clover is ready to steal your heart.

Betty is available and honestly, we aren’t sure what you people are waiting for. 😂

This Bullmastiff girl is absolutely stunning and has an amazing smile. Really. Truly. Amazing. 👀😂

She’s got the looks, the personality, and apparently zero ability to take a normal photo. But honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Don’t miss out on Betty. This girl is one of a kind and her personality simply can’t be beat. ❤️🐾

Meet Paw Paw!

Paw Paw is a very sweet red boy who has just arrived in our care and is understandably a little confused by everything that’s happened. One day he’s in a home, the next, surrendered to Chicago Animal Care & Control.

We’ll give him some time to decompress and get comfortable, then update his bio with more about his personality and what he’s looking for in his forever home.

Meet Macy! 🖤

Macy is a beautiful black and tan Doberman who was found wandering stray in Maywood. This sweet girl is clearly in need of some TLC, and we’re looking forward to watching her decompress, settle in, and start feeling like herself again.

Macy is now safe in our care and will be heading to her foster home soon. We’ll update her bio once we get to know her a little better and can tell you more about this beautiful girl.

Huge shoutout to our friend Alliee at Honeylane in Beecher for coming to the rescue for our newest intake, Matt! ❤️

Matt was in desperate need of a groom, but unfortunately, since he’s been coughing (which is unfortunately pretty common for our new shelter intakes bringing home a few extra germs), he couldn’t make it to the grooming shop.

So Alliee brought the grooming shop to him! ✂️🐾

She came to his aid today with a garage groom, and Matt is already looking - and definitely feeling - so much better!

We’re so grateful for people like Alliee who are always willing to help our dogs when they need it most. Thank you, Alliee! ❤️
