Local One makes weekly training center visits, meetings our members where THEY are. We discuss important topics and answer questions to ensure our members have what they need to succeed. This group of apprentices is the largest group we’ve met with to date!

Today, Laborers Local One pauses to remember the lives forever changed on September 11, 2001.

We honor the innocent lives lost, the families who continue to carry their loved ones in their hearts, and the brave first responders, emergency personnel, construction workers, and countless others who ran toward danger when others were running away.

As Laborers, we understand the strength, courage, and sacrifice it takes to rebuild not only buildings and communities, but hope.

We remember those we lost.
We honor those who served.
We stand with those who continue to carry the weight of that day.

Labor Day is more than a day off, it is a tribute to those who stood up, fought back, and refused to accept less than they deserved.

Here in Chicago, immigrants, trade unionists, and working class organizers risked everything to win the 8 hour work day, safer jobs, fair wages, and our right to stand together. As members of Laborers Local One, we carry their fight forward.

Today we honor those that came before us, the members who carry our great union now, and the families who make every sacrifice worthwhile.
