’re launching our annual print drive today because the reality of running a community space has changed. In a way, we’re all NPR now—we need regular, reliable support to stay operational, especially as funding for the arts has shrunk over the last two years. Last year, you stepped up in a massive way to keep our lights on and our equipment running. We’re still here doing what we love because of you.

While we’re on more solid ground today, making a community print shop run smoothly takes ongoing care, maintenance, and investment. Right now, things are tight, and a few crucial pieces of shop equipment—like our beloved but extinct paper guillotine (RIP)—need to be replaced.

Starting today, we’re putting a large selection of archived prints, rare editions, and shop work up for sale. When you buy a print, you aren’t making a donation—you’re getting incredible, hand-printed artwork for your walls, and 100% of the proceeds go right back into the shop floor.

Linocut is defined by its bold, high-contrast graphic style. Because it relies on relief carving, it forces you to think in terms of pure shape, negative space, and strong lines.

In this four-hour workshop, we will focus on translating a design into a clean block print. We’ll cover how to control carving tools for different line weights, manage ink density on the roller, and use our etching presses to pull a consistent run of prints.

We supply the tools, ink, and paper. Just bring a 4x6" drawing or design to carve.

Spend a Sunday afternoon in the print shop learning the fundamentals of monotype.

Monotype is a highly experimental, painterly process where you apply ink directly onto a plate and run it through the press to create a one-of-a-kind print.

In this 4-hour workshop, we'll cover ink rolling, wiping, stenciling, and basic press operation. You'll get plenty of hands-on time to experiment with the medium and will leave with a small series of unique prints.

No prior printmaking experience is needed. All materials are provided.

Have an intaglio project you want to develop with dedicated press time and professional feedback?

This 4-week course is designed for printmakers who already know the basics of etching, drypoint, or engraving but want structured studio time to work on their own portfolios. An instructor will be on hand during each session to help you troubleshoot techniques, refine your plates, and assist with proofing and printing.

Note: This class is for printmakers with prior intaglio experience who are ready to work independently.

Want to get more tactile with your Riso prints?

This 4-hour workshop focuses entirely on how to create, manipulate, and print rich textures. We’ll skip the flat digital fills and dive into analog mark-making, halftone patterns, and experimental layering techniques that make Risograph prints stand out.

Perfect for illustrators, designers, and printmakers looking to push the physical limits of the machine. Some basic Riso knowledge is helpful, but all levels are welcome.
