Bifunkal

Bifunkal is a two-piece band based in Chicago that believes in live looping, vocal bass, and the power of rock. Bifunkal is Hershyl Edwards (drums, vocal bass, loops, vox) and Jesse Crydeman (guitar, loops, vox). Hershyl is a unique bird, in that he sings the bass lines (into an octave pedal) while playing drums. Sometimes he even loops the vocal bass, and then sings--all while playing drums. Bifunkal is as much a concept as it is a medium for expressing ideas through the universal language of music. At the core of Bifunkal is the assumption that two people creating in harmony can deliver the sound of three or more musicians while bringing new sounds to the audience at every performance. Together we create an exciting blend of funk, rock, progressive jazz, trance, hip hop, and forms undefined.
