Young adults are disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that as many as half of all new HIV infections in the U.S. occur among those less than 25 years in age. As a result, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) has formed a Junior Board to engage young adults in the fight against the epidemic.

This weekend, the AFC Associate Board came together for our annual Summer Retreat: a time to reflect, reconnect, and set the foundation for the year ahead.

Together, we prioritized our goals, aligned on our vision, and established meaningful intentions to further support the mission of the AIDS Foundation Chicago. These conversations strengthen not only our board, but also our commitment to creating lasting impact for the communities we serve.

This past weekend, our Associate Board members and an incredible group of volunteers team up to run the beverage tent at Chicago Pride! As a board, one of our favorite things to do is get out into the community, roll up our sleeves, and support AFC’s mission firsthand. We had an absolute blast keeping everyone refreshed, celebrating love and inclusion, and connecting with so many of you.

A massive thank you to every single AB member and volunteer who gave their time and energy to make this event such a success. We are so proud of what this team can accomplish when we work together! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

We’re Growing Our Associate Board! 🌈

We’re actively recruiting passionate, driven individuals who want to make a meaningful impact in our community through advocacy, fundraising, volunteerism, and leadership.

As we continue to grow, we’re committed to building a board that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We especially encourage individuals from historically underrepresented communities—including transgender, Black, and other LGBTQ+ community members—to consider getting involved.

Whether you’re looking to expand your network, develop leadership skills, give back, or support a cause you care deeply about, we’d love to connect with you.
