Sometimes you don’t need a party with a DJ, a dance floor, or a packed schedule.

Sometimes you just need a good book, a cozy seat, and a room full of people who came to do the exact same thing. 📚

Our Silent Reading Party was the perfect kind of quiet … people settling in, turning pages, discovering new books, and enjoying a little uninterrupted reading time together.

Watch to see what some of our readers brought with them. 👀

And if this looks like your kind of Friday night…
Our next Silent Reading Party is Friday, October 23rd.

Come read with us. Bring whatever you’re currently reading and use the opportunity to finally start that book that’s been sitting on your nightstand judging you.

Because sometimes the best social activity is being social without having to socialize.

Tomorrow, we’re making room for some new voices. 📚

Indie Author Saturday is happening at Da Book Joint!

Come spend your Saturday discovering independent authors, hearing the stories behind their books, asking questions, meeting the people who wrote them, and of course leaving with a few new books for your TBR.

We’ll have two indie authors joining us for 30-minute spotlights + Q&A, a storytime, followed by time to meet the authors, get books signed, take pictures, and shop.

This is exactly the kind of afternoon we love at Da Book Joint: books, authors, conversation, and community. Whether you already know an indie author you want to support or you’re coming to discover somebody completely new, pull up!

Saturday, September 26 | 12–4PM

Just a few of the book lovers who have recently walked through our doors and officially became part of the Da Book Joint fam. 🥹📚

You know one of our favorite things is watching people come into the shop looking for a new read and leave with a stack, a recommendation, a new favorite author… and hopefully a reason to come back and hang with us again.

Because yes, we’re a bookstore. But the PEOPLE are the heartbeat of this business.

Every conversation. Every new face. Every returning customer. Every “That book you told me to get …. I LOVED it!” means more than you know.
So please keep coming in. Keep finding books. Keep bringing your friends. Keep making this space yours.

Da Book Joint is better because you’re here.

And to our newest Book Joint fam: welcome to the family!

Wednesday night was one of those nights that was a direct reminder of exactly why we do this.

Our book signing with Tisha Campbell was absolutely beautiful. Samantha Chatman was the perfect moderator for such a touching, honest, and deeply personal conversation.

Hearing Tisha share her autism journey with her son, the lessons she’s learned, and the experiences that have shaped her as a mother made so many moms in that room feel seen, understood, and a little less alone. And truly … THAT is what we do this for.

And then there was the setting. ❤️

Getting to host this conversation at the South Shore Cultural Center, a place that holds so many pivotal memories for me personally, was the cherry on top. The beauty of that building never gets old, and being able to bring a conversation like this into a space that means so much to me made the evening even more special.

Thank you to Tisha Campbell, Samantha Chatman, and everyone who came out and shared in this moment with us.

And if you missed it, we still have a few signed copies of A Word by Tisha Campbell available at Da Book Joint and on our website. Come get yours while we still have them.

We’re still thinking about this one.

Last weekend, we gathered for our book club discussion of Savvy Summers and the Po’boy Perils by Sandra Jackson-Opoku, and we were HONORED to have Sandra join us in the room.
Getting to ask the author our questions, hear her insight, and dig even deeper into the story made for such a special discussion. Thank you, Sandra, for spending the evening with our book club and giving us even more to think about!

And now… it’s time to find out what’s next. 👀

Swipe through to see what we’re NOT reading for October 😂 and keep swiping for the book that made the cut!
