Communities In Schools Chicago connects students at 250 schools within Chicagoland with programs provided by a strong network of community partners. Programs support a variety of student needs, including health and wellness, college readiness, and mentorship. We will be working with them to introduce our new Career Exploration Days to schools within Chicago Public Schools.

📚✨ Back-to-school season is here, and together we can equip students at Ruben Salazar with the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our School Supply Drive is open now through August 16, and we’re inviting our community to join us in empowering local classrooms for the year ahead. 💜👩‍🏫

This past weekend, members of our board joined the Chicago Pride Parade—standing in support, celebration, and community. Moments like these remind us how powerful it is to show up, uplift one another, and celebrate every identity. 🦸‍♀️✨

As June comes to a close, we carry this spirit forward—because creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered is something we practice all year long. 🌟

Our incredible Founder & President, Nico started She Became when she was just 16 (!!!) — turning a vision into a powerful community that continues to grow and inspire 💜

Nico leads with passion and purpose, guiding the organization’s mission and shaping its impact every step of the way. Her dedication is at the heart of everything She Became stands for.

💜 Favorite She Became Moment: The Dream Grants — empowering young women to bring their ideas to life and seeing those dreams become reality.

As we welcome the start of summer, we were thrilled to present this year’s Dream Grants to Future Leaders across our programming! 💜

Designed to support girls as they explore their passions and career aspirations, each Dream Grant is thoughtfully curated to reflect the unique interests, goals, and dreams of elementary school girls completing our Future Leaders Mentorship Program. 👯‍♀️✨

Our Future Leaders received personalized resources connected to the careers they hope to pursue. Whether it was books, creative tools, STEM kits🥼journals , or hands-on learning materials 📚, every item was selected with intention to empower each girl to continue exploring her potential with confidence.

Our She Became Gala was truly unforgettable—and it’s all because of you. Together, we raised $82,157 to launch the She Became Scholarship Fund this year. 💜These funds will keep our programming free to all participants while expanding educational access, empowering girls and women to dream bigger, lead boldly, and become who they’re meant to be.🌟

From the incredible energy in the room to the partners who helped bring every detail to life, we are overflowing with gratitude for everyone who showed up, supported, and celebrated alongside us. 👯‍♀️
