So last night, while out to dinner, I got a message from someone whom I consider a credible source, who was excited to see that I was still alive and had not passed away. 😲🫢🤯😱

Some dusty 🫏🍑🧙🏾‍♀️🧹 was telling folks that I had passed away. 😡🤥

I am a firm believer that “life and death are in the power of the tongue"-Proverbs 18:21

I’m asking god to cease all those who are speaking evil, sickness, and death upon me. For those who do speak it, may your reaping results be the phrase "eat its fruit" means you must live with the outcomes and consequences of the things you say. 🤫🤐💀⚰️

40 years ago today, September 8, 1986, a local Chicago morning show called AM Chicago premiered before going national as The Oprah Winfrey Show, a famous daytime talk show hosted by Oprah Winfrey. 📺🌟💫

The Oprah Winfrey Show was the highest-rated daytime talk show in American television history and won multiple Daytime Emmy Awards.

Little history fact: I was a guest on AM Chicago in its first month of airing; the subject was “People Who Know Everyone.” I was selected as a guest because I would see Oprah out and about when she first moved to Chicago and was trying to meet the who’s who of Chicago in preparation for her upcoming show.

Today marks one year since the opening of Northwestern Medicine Bronzeville Outpatient Center. It was a beautiful pleasure and treat to run into the Medical Director, Dr. Kimbra Bell Balark, whom I’ve known for many years and who is one of the kindest and most caring people ever. 🩺🥼💉🏥😷👩🏽‍⚕️❤️

I’m so glad I requested that all of my routine follow-ups be conducted at the new Northwestern Bronzeville location. It’s a beautiful, full-service, state-of-the-art facility that's so much easier to reach if you are on the south side of Chicago. As I think about the situation yesterday, when the bridge was stuck due to the excessive heat on Lake Shore Drive, which was a complete nightmare, this location is easily accessible via public transportation and has a parking garage. The staff is all very friendly and efficient. 🫶🏾❤️🫶🏾

After my appointment, I decided to grab lunch at the new eatery in the building- Migos Fine Foods. This cute, eclectic dining experience adds a different level to the neighborhood. Congratulations, Chef Brian Jupiter and team. My food was delicious. 🌮🌯🥗🍔

September is National Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

This month, my goal is to shed light on the cancers that affect the blood and lymphatic systems.

As a blood cancer fighter and survivor, I want to raise awareness of all blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndromes.

The goal is to raise awareness by informing the public about the causes of blood cancers, how to identify symptoms, available treatments, and progress made through research.

Did you know that blood cancers are a non-visible disability that causes lymph node swelling, night sweats, extreme fatigue, fever, difficulty catching breath, excessive joint pain, and
unexplained weight loss.

Even though survival rates continue to improve, someone in the United States dies from a blood cancer every 9 minutes. In the United States, nearly 10% of the people who die from cancer die from blood cancer.

Good afternoon & happy Monday, everyone. My heart is filled with love & joy this morning by the many people who have shown acts of kindness, posted, texted, called, and messaged me over the past 24 hours.
