Did you know Family Feud ranks as the 5th longest-running game show in American TV history?

In fact, Family Feud was canceled twice (in 1985 and 1995) but has returned each time... maybe because it shows a different type of thought process. Something that Mainland is pretty good at...

Unlike normal trivia, Family Feud is a game of emotional intelligence and social prediction.

Success requires contestants to step outside their personal bubbles and figure out how the "average person" thinks.

We had some fun in our last happy hour playing our own game of Family Feud. At Mainland, we love a chance to think outside the box for our clients in franchising and our own Culture Manager, Juan Vasquez, does a pretty good impression of Steve Harvey... so double points on the board for that 💯 !

Oftentimes, walking into the office at Mainland means finding that most of the furniture has moved.

Your desk might have a new window view.
The kitchen table might be a completely different shape.
The ping pong table and the conference table swapped in position, seemingly overnight.

This time though...something feels different.

Maybe it's the conference table and screen combo, or our new rhino heads on the wall, or how people are finding it easier to connect in meetings with a lot of different voices, but this setup feels like it has some lasting power. Or maybe...it's only a piece of the puzzle, and there are more improvements already in the works.

Now that sounds more like Mainland!

Like most freelancers who graduated into the digital marketing age, Ky Thackthay is a jack-of-all-trades! We’re excited to have him join our team as our new Account Manager!

Having worked creatively in agencies and beyond, Ky has acquired skill sets in digital strategy using any combination of website design, social marketing, email marketing, paid ads, photo, and video. In the freelance world, Ky found a passion for helping small business owners build their brands, managing a small team and 9 clients at once at the peak of his business.

In the digital world, is a jack of all trades better than a master of none? We think so.

Today was Playoff Spirit Day ⚾ at our Chicago office - in honor of both teams making the playoffs, something we haven’t seen since 2020.

Did you know that 120 years ago, in 1906, the Sox beat the Cubs 4-2 in the World Series? Who knows what we’ll see this time, but this office has go their eye on the ball…and so does Big Ron!

How does our rejection?

Henry Schleizer, our new Media Relations Manager, joins the Mainland team with a history of sports media under his belt from working at NFL Films, the PGA TOUR, and quiet possibly his favorite team, Arizona State, where he got his first media role as a broadcast producer in their athletic program.

In his leadership roles in PR and news, Henry heard his fair share of no’s. It tends to “come with the territory”, as he puts it. We’re excited to see how he can bring some of that Sun Devil energy to the media relations team.
