For those of you who are brand new, know that I’ve been making a go at art professionally for over 30 years. I’ve had to work the multi-hustle to make ends meet. I teach art and culture at Chicago State University, and do graphic design gigs, both freelance and for CSU. More recently, I’ve added Curator to my bag of tricks. I’ve collaborated with Thomas Lucas on shows like Black Clay and Alberto Aguilar: Forms of Exchange for our President’s Gallery. My biggest project to date is Bill Walker: Urban Griot, which ran at the Hyde Park Art Center through early April 2018, with big ups to the Terra Foundation for their support. I moved to a business page so I can promote my events and focus more on art stuff, both mine (see more of my work on my website) and others of interest. More importantly, it’s a place that reminds me that, with all the many hats I wear, I’m still an artist as well.
