For those who struggle with saying “no”. 🚫

You don’t have to make uncomfortable people comfortable with your boundary.

That’s probably going to feel unnatural at first.

Someone asks you for something you don’t want to do?
“No, I’m not comfortable with that.”

Someone keeps pushing after you’ve declined?
“I already said no.”

Someone makes a sexual comment you don’t like?
“Don’t talk to me like that.”

Someone wants an explanation you don’t owe?
“I’d rather not.”

Someone catches you off guard and you genuinely don’t know what you want?
“Let me think about it.”

That last one is particularly useful for you. Assertiveness doesn’t require having the perfect answer immediately. If your instinct is to comply because you’re uncomfortable, buying yourself time is a boundary too.

And here’s the part where I’d challenge you: you will probably feel mean sometimes when you’re actually just being clear. Take a deep breath and walk away from the interaction. Ending the convo is not disrespectful, and nor is your decision. ❤️
