I know the tabloids portrayed 2Pac as a Crazy Thug. But we chatted before his show. I asked him if he remembered that I hired Digital Underground when he was a back up rapper / hypeman and he did. So don't always believe the hype because it's usually just that.

Check out this historuc flyer from 41 years ago at the Rainbo. Featuring 3 great DJ's two of them no longer with us. Rick Lenoir of L&R fame. Creator of the House Music anthem "Work It To The Bone" and "You Can't Stop The House" and the late great Lil DJ Jesse Velez & Sly Hula Hula Foxx.

Plus Steve Silk Hurley Performing Live as a performer instead of a DJ under the name JM SILK. This was when his songs "Music Is The Key" & "I Can't Turn Around" were blowing up on the radio. I have video clips of that performance.

Imagine trying to do a teen party like this today. On this night we didn't open the doors til midnight. If I remember correctly it was due to Jam doing an early rock concert at the Rainbo that night. So we had to clear that crowd out and clean up before opening to my crowd.
