The enrollment cliff hasn't reached most regional business schools yet. Graduate enrollment is the problem right now.

That was the through line of our conversations with attendees at the AACSB Associate Deans Conference in Scottsdale earlier this month. (Thank you to AACSB for bringing this group together.)

What we heard from business school leaders:

- Students expect more from a graduate degree: closer engagement with faculty, skills employers recognize and real help planning a career
- New program opportunities keep surfacing, but faculty and staff capacity to pursue them hasn't kept pace-
- Employers want technology and AI fluency, and they want people skills to go with it
- Schools that relied on international students have watched that pipeline shrink, and domestic recruitment has to fill the gap

We were glad to have David Urban, AllCampus advisory council member and former business dean at Middle Tennessee State University, with us at the booth. He's been on the other side of these decisions, and the conversations were better for it.

AllCampus works with business schools on exactly these questions: identifying programs the market will support and building domestic graduate enrollment without adding to a program director's workload. If you're weighing the same pressures, we'd be glad to compare notes.
