A reminder that Stratagem's respected and concise MORNING COFFEE REPORT come out every day hours before the market open.

This FREE report is an abbreviated “cheat sheet” of everything you need to know about what happened the previous day and for that day.

All written by a retired CBOE FLOOR TRADER, the famous trader everyone just knows as SCOTT.

It has all economic numbers, news, important earnings, previous day analysis, etc. More importantly it also provides insight into what one can expect for that trading day.

ANOTHER IMPROVEMENT SINCE JUNE

Starting immediately (now that vacation is over) I will be doing several updates a week with my game-plan and thoughts as I increase trading size.

I'M BACK
I just got back from my WORKING-VACATION / CHARITY 3-weeks, and I am feel energized.

I couple of people in the company went the one of the toughest ghettos in the Philippines for a charity event. Obviously I am too soft and fragile to stay there without room service and a pool, so I commuted 40-minutes to go back and work at night (trading hours).

I did not stop working with POT and STRATAGEM, but now have better technology. BUT, I have to say their internet is cheaper. The glowing machine is the internet for the group of homes we would call a “block” in the States.

It is 5 pesos for 6 hours, or 20 pesos for the day. That is about $0.32 a day, or $9.60 a month. I probably pay that per day here. LOL

Market higher despite IBM.

The day could have had “disaster” written all over it at the start – at least had anyone ever expected good news from IBM.

IBM announced that their second quarter earnings would be horrible as the CEO (Arvand Krishna) blamed “shifting customer CapEx spending” (whatever that is?) on poor earnings coming out.

The stock dropped 25% today, which is worse than even the DOT COM and 1987 crash hurt the stock.

The market shrugged it off because it is “only IBM”. The SPX closed higher by 0.38% and the Nasdaq by 1.18%.

WORKING VACATION and CHARITY
I want to thank everyone for their patience as my posts have been sparse for weeks.

I am on a working vacation and charity event in the most impoverished part of the Philippines – Happy Land.

This is a working vacation where POT class is still taking place and all other company activities, but time for FB postings has been limited until next week.

Thanks for the new people signing up for our page. We just broke above 500 followers after ignoring social media most of the years. I love the new faces, especially when it is old faces finding me. Hello Sheri!

STRATAGEM is bigger than my previous company (RW), and I thank everyone for their patience while I am on my first vacation in years.

SPACE X (SPCX)
Since the IPO of Space X our students have been craving a long hedged SPCX Collar.

On the first day of the IPO, and almost every day since, I have said “Do NOT chase the stock. Most IPOs trade under the IPO price within the first year.”

This being the hottest IPO, perhaps since Facebook (FB) which didn't get above its IPO price for a year, I said I will start when the stock plays with the IPO price.

The stock's IPO price was $135 and got as high as $229.85 (OUCH!). It has since fallen and is close to its IPO price again within a month.

I will start a Collar soon. The minute the stock looks like it is strong and buyers are coming in, or looks like everyone is running for the exits in a panic.
