I spent years as a soldier in the U.S. Army. Then years more as a police officer on the streets of Chicago.
I was trained to stay calm, stay strong, and carry whatever came my way. For a long time I believed carrying it alone was proof I was strong.
It wasn't.
What changed my life wasn't getting tougher. It was getting honest.
Now I sit with men who look fine on the outside and are worn down on the inside. If that's you, hear me. Healing is not weakness. Support is not shame.
