This first-year college student just completed his Executive Functioning Coaching sessions at CLS and is heading into college with strategies to help him stay organized, manage his time, prioritize responsibilities, and navigate greater independence.

Because being college-ready isn’t just about academics; it’s also about having the tools to plan, organize, manage, and advocate for yourself.

Y’ALL…MY TWO RIGHT HANDS ARE FINALLY BACK!! 💚💙🎉

Listen…I fully supported maternity leave. 😂 Baby Vince and Zuri needed their mamas, and I’m so happy Kaya, our Director of Student Support, and Mary, our Director of Clinical Services, had that precious time with their growing families!

But ummm…I MISSED MY PEOPLE! 😂🙌🏽

These two have been by my side helping me lead, problem-solve, support our team, care for our kiddos and families, and somehow keep up with the 937 ideas I come up with on a regular basis. 🤣

Having them BOTH back feels like the band is back together and this CEO is VERY happy about it! 💃🏽💙💚

Welcome back, Kaya & Mary! I hope you know how loved, valued, and appreciated you are. I’m so excited about what’s ahead for us and for CLS!

Ms. Ella, one of our amazing Speech-Language Pathologists, shared with the CLS team how AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices can help children who are non-speaking or have limited verbal language find their voice and communicate with greater independence. 🗣️📱✨

AAC can give children powerful ways to express their wants, needs, thoughts, feelings, and personalities—and reminds us that every child has something to say, even when they don’t use spoken words to say it.

We love opportunities like this for our multidisciplinary team to learn from one another, grow together, and strengthen the ways we support our kiddos across disciplines.

Because at CLS, communication comes in many forms—and every voice matters. 💙💚

What a week for “The Executives!” ✨

Our middle school Executive Functioning group had an incredibly successful week filled with learning, laughter, and lots of practical strategies!

From managing their time and staying organized to tackling procrastination, studying effectively, and managing emotions, these students put in the work while still having plenty of fun along the way.

And the best part? They named themselves “The Executives” and they definitely lived up to the name! 💪🏽🧠

They’re heading into the new school year with new tools, greater confidence, and strategies they can actually use.

Kennedy may be sharing her experience, but one thing was true for all of our summer enrichment interns: they quickly learned that every child is unique, and the best support comes from understanding each student’s individual strengths, needs, and personality. 💙💚

When reflecting on the summer, one theme kept coming up again and again: watching our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally was the most rewarding part of the experience.

From building confidence and strengthening friendships to celebrating milestones both big and small, our interns had the privilege of witnessing so much growth this summer.

Thank you to Kennedy and all of our incredible interns for bringing so much compassion, energy, patience, and enthusiasm to our program. You made a difference, and our students are better because of you! ✨

Today the CLS crew (and babies!) came together to send a heartfelt goodbye to Ms. Jordan, CLS’s very first speech and language intern and fellow, as she heads back home to Ohio. 💙💚

From the very beginning, Ms. Jordan brought warmth, compassion, enthusiasm, and dedication to every child and family she worked with. She made a lasting impact on our CLS community, and we are so grateful for the care and support she provided.

While we will certainly miss her, we know she has an incredibly bright future ahead. Thank you, Ms. Jordan, for being such an important part of the CLS family. We are cheering you on every step of the way! ✨

In 2018, Micah walked through our doors as a kid in our weekly Social Skills Group, learning strategies to strengthen impulse control, manage distractibility, and build frustration tolerance.

Fast forward to Summer 2026… Micah returned to CLS; as a high school student and our youngest Summer Enrichment intern. ❤️

Because of his own journey, Micah brought something truly special to our program. His compassion, empathy, patience, enthusiasm, energy, and kindness made him the perfect role model for our kiddos. He understood them in a way that only someone who has walked a similar path can!

Watching him encourage, support, and celebrate our students every day has been one of the greatest joys of the summer. He is loved by every child and admired by our team!

Micah, your growth is an incredible reminder that with the right support, encouragement, and perseverance, children can grow into confident young leaders who inspire the next generation.

We couldn’t be more proud of you. Your future is incredibly bright, and we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish. 🌟🙌🏽

✨ Executive functioning starts earlier than most people think... and our kindergartners are already building these lifelong skills! 💙💚

Last week in Summer Enrichment, our youngest learners tackled their very first executive functioning lesson: **organization!** 📚✏️ From keeping track of their materials to organizing their work, they’re learning that being prepared helps them become more confident, independent learners.

These small habits today lay the foundation for success tomorrow. We are so proud of our little learners! 🌟

One of our favorite parts of Summer Enrichment is watching cooperative learning come to life. Whether they’re solving problems, creating together, or practicing important social skills like respecting personal space, our kiddos are learning from one another every step of the way.

The best part? They don’t even realize how much they’re learning because they’re having so much fun! ☀️
