Solo performance spots in The Showcase are highly sought-after and limited to ten selected artists. All submitted works undergo review by our esteemed panel of adjudicators 🦋

2026-2027 High School Seniors! Applications are due by midnight TONIGHT to join us as Metamorphosis Assistants at this year’s event 🦋

Metamorphosis Assistants work closely with our esteemed faculty to demonstrate for classes and act as positive role models for their peers. These select students are also featured in the Metamorphosis Performance Ensemble’s full-length work, perform their solos during our showcases, engage in a photoshoot, work closely with Chicago-based professional choreographers, and assist with the Collective Contemporary Awards.

We want YOU to join us as part of the Metamorphosis Performance Ensemble (MPE) for 2026! Get your application in by August 20th. 🦋

A spot is NOT guaranteed; participants are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

MPE is a select group of technically proficient, artistic dancers who will learn and perform a new work as the opening number for our Group Showcase, participate in a photoshoot, receive costuming from Illuminate Dancewear, and gain invaluable connections with Chicago-based industry professionals.

This year’s Take Flight dancers can’t wait to take all they’ve learned to the Metamorphosis stage this October!
