I had the best time recording Rosa das Rosas with the incredibly talented Desiree Martin. ❤️ She’s somehow singing while playing harp, shruti box, and percussion all at once (seriously 🤯), while I’m on oud.

Making music with people like Desiree is such a joy. Thanks for sharing your talent, creativity, and good vibes—it was an absolute pleasure! Can’t wait to do it again. 🎵✨

Here’s our version of “Ojos, pues me desdeñáis” by José Marín, originally written for baroque guitar and voice. It was so much fun bringing this piece into a new sound together.

This beautiful piece comes from the rich musical tradition of the Spanish Viceroyalty of Peru, where Iberian, Indigenous, and African influences intertwined to create a vibrant musical language that continues to inspire us today. 🌎✨

Performed by The Spanish Consort, this excerpt reflects our passion for rediscovering and sharing the music of the Hispanic diaspora through historically informed performance.
